The lad obviously has talent though he may not be ready to lead the line for us right now especially with the atmosphere surrounding the club. This however should not stop us from signing him as an addition to a senior player. If he can smoothen his rough edges we may have a handy player in him. My only concern right now is whether he would get a work permit should we sign him.

Nothing we could do for Gnabry. He was coming back after bad loan spell which ended with bad injury. At big club you can't promise players who go through that a game time immediately. We wanted to keep him but we had to build him up slowly and let him earn his chance.

For game time he had to take chance and took step down. Well calculated move from the player.

And we still have Reiss Nelson and possibly Chris Willock too, who are both capable of reaching the level Gnabry is currently at.

Have you actually watched him play ? There's no better winger in our squad baring Sanchez than Gnabry

If there are no better winger in our squad baring Sanchez than Gnabry then why the hell has Gnabry been dropped from Bremen's starting XI?

That's such a hyperbolic leap!

He asked for game time and Wenger felt he had better options who could contribute more for the team. They left on good terms, Gnabry recently bigged Arséne up.
Leaving on good terms doesn't help us in the slightest. The better options haven't come to fruition as we're still scouting players for the position he left. I understand there's a respect but you don't purchase a player to develop them and let them walk.

It was a good move but my whole point is that even back then Gnabry was promising and many members of this forum were asking for him to return. You don't buy promising players to end up in scenarios like this. Why did we have to let him earn his chance ? Was he really that far behind Chamberlain & Walcott ? Baring pace he's better than Walcott. I don't want to derail this thread.
Wenger actually attempted to sign Iheanacho before City and Iheanacho's coach advised him to go to a team that will push/play him.

His biggest competition wasn't Chamberlain or Walcott, it was Iwobi. Who showed more maturity and consistency on the pitch than Gnabry ever did. Gnabry showed promise but also a lot of rawness and a lot of times he was clueless on the pitch, people would have crucified Chamberlain/Walcott if they gave similar performances. He wasn't good enough to feature in our first team, like I said he's not even good enough to start for Bremen over the past month. He was given his chances and he didn't show enough to be considered as good as he promised in the academy.

KAS Eupen striker Henry Onyekuru is hopeful of completing a move to Arsenal this summer
Belgian striker Henry Onyekuru is understood to be optimistic of striking a deal which secures him a move to Arsenal soon.

The London side are currently in talks with the Nigerian forward's representatives over a possible transfer from KAS Eupen.

A number of Premier League clubs are interested in Onyekuru, including Everton, Southampton, West Brom and Crystal Palace.

Scottish champions Celtic also tried to sign the 19-year-old in January but the player has decided he wants a move to the Emirates.

Discussions between Arsenal and Onyekuru's representatives are believed to be progressing well, with the club seemingly willing to meet his £6.8m release fee.

Onyekuru is currently in Corsica with the Nigerian national team ahead of two friendly matches
The teenager has already turned down opportunities to join two of Belgium's leading sides, Anderlecht and Brugge, after finishing as the joint-leading scorer in the Jupiler League.

Onyekuru is currently at a training camp with the Nigerian national squad having been called up for the first time.

They play Corsica in an unofficial international on Friday before meeting Togo on June 1, with Onyekuru hoping to feature in those fixtures after an impressive club campaign.

This one could be done quickly the players seem want to get the deal done quickly. We just need to pay his release clause

Given that we go into next season with zero pressure on winning the league I will be surprised if Nelson hasnt got his debut before new year. I think Nelson is one of those talents that Wenger talks about that they should be playing at age 18-20.

I like the fact with this Henry kid is that he is scoring goals at such a young age. Good sign!
