Our 3rd choice has been a kid for the last few years. Okonkwo, Hein and Setford have all held that role.

Yeah and it’s not a good thing. Change of direction if better so we don’t have youth wasting a year but we have someone who’s crap wasting a year.

3rd keepers are special breeds.

Yes I know, and the guy who broke this story said if that happens Arsenal will look to sign a number two.
Another GK?
Excellent.

Last summer it was Kepa, in 2024 it was Neto, in 2023 it was Raya, in 2022 it was Turner, in 2021 it was Ramsdale and Matt Ryan, in 2020 it was Runarsson.

And it will continue.

Goalkeepers tend to break through later, so imo no issue having young keepers here getting u21 minutes but also top notch training from coaches and experienced top quality goalkeepers...

Well Raya and a.n. other.

Why’s it wasting a year? They’re training with the big guns.

Been out of loop this week but what in the hell is this? Random average, if even that, GK from Leeds?
All I can hope and pray for is that he hasn't signed with the bullsh*t expectation of playing all cup games like Kepa last season. The mids should stay far away from starting when it gets to semi's and finals.

Meslier has resale value when we ship for £800k + future fee clause in two years
This is exactly why we’re signing him, same as when we signed Kepa - he had a very low release clause and we’ll likely move him on for a profit. Sign Meslier and do the exact same next summer.
If people think we’re selling Kepa for a profit then blowing the £15m+ it’ll take to sign a quality backup (to play a handful of domestic cup games, unless we have an injury nightmare) they’re kidding themselves.

No one? Just promote one of the highly rated academy keepers we have. Or if we absolutely have to make a signing, someone like Ortega was available.
We did that last season with Setford and now he's at a stage where he needs to play and get competitive experience as part of his footballing education. What if Ortega wants loads of money or doesn't want to be 3rd choice?

I’ve legit laughed at this pic and that fact we’re signing him for 5+ mins straight.   Feel like Mr Burns right now.

Arsenal Quotes

Arsenal was firmly embedded in the local community and had a very solid, working-class foundations. The fans espoused the club's values. This visceral attachment, from childhood, to a club and a team is something I have never seen anywhere else with such fervour. Every fan's first match at Highbury was like a baptism.
