This is somehow both a spot on impression of Lineker, but also a terrible one

When I want some actual insight for adults I pick up a book.I don’t really care about Zonal Marking. I just named a couple of guys who would talk about tactics rather than laughing at Roy Keane again.
if you prefer Micah Richards to some actual insight then all power to you. Personally I’d rather something aimed at adults.
It's **** as well but a different hue of sh*t if you will lol. There are many ex-players as in the UK but not nearly the amount of big names running around just to have a former PL great on the show. Many lesser or unknown guys with a coaching background but then again a lot of them chat absolute rubbish where you wonder why they were invited.
Other than that the usual mentality, passion etc bollocks which fills air time. To be fair though there are a couple proper football minds who understand what they're watching that you don't have in the UK, Lothar Matthäus comes to mind. Complete imbecile off the pitch, absolute garbage coach on par with Neville but his analysis on TV is by far the best I've seen anywhere go figure.
Yea it's atrocious, like he's infamous for it. Sounds like a OAP talking any language other than German e.g. talking about Barca he'd say Bartzeloner. What's the joke in Germany in regards to Lothar Mattheus?
I remember in Munich they were selling loads of postcards with pictures of him on with grammatically incorrect English.
I take it his English bad?
Interesting to see the fallout from Carragher's comments in the studio about Salah being disadvantaged by playing for Egypt due to AFCON being less prestigious than the Euros or Copa America.
Jamie Carragher awkwardly checked during Mohamed Salah debate
Regardless of whether or not we agree with him, this is another example of a poorly handled discussion topic by a pundit who is accustomed to living in a bubble of unaired and unchallenged views, and subconsciously perpetuates common, lazy, narratives.
It's a shame for me that this kind of topic can't be discussed in an intellectually open way.
This is why I have a lot of time for Micah Richards. People just think of him as being kind of jolly and jokey, but he calls out BS in real time and is not afraid to challenge ignorance. The whole business of him having a go at Salah over the talk about his contract exposed that he's a clown.Interesting to see the fallout from Carragher's comments in the studio about Salah being disadvantaged by playing for Egypt due to AFCON being less prestigious than the Euros or Copa America.

That's an awfully nice way to say he's a racist. That's the real story here.Interesting to see the fallout from Carragher's comments in the studio about Salah being disadvantaged by playing for Egypt due to AFCON being less prestigious than the Euros or Copa America.

When I think of punditry all I can think about is the 2010 world cup England vs Germany and the BBC pundits basically ripping into Germany and completely dismissing them, saying they couldn't cope with the experience and ability of England's golden generation.
This was the very first time I realised none of these pundits had a clue what they were talking about. I wanna say it was Hansen, Shearer and Lawrenson but not 100% sure, definitely Hansen was there.
Annoying as he is and racist as he might be, Carragher is A story not THE story. He's the symptom of a far bigger problem. Souness was like him but worse. These folks always tell on themselves when you hear them talk about "foreigners" in context of the British game. That's an awfully nice way to say he's a racist. That's the real story here.
I don't go in for this woke culture, but if it gets Carragher off my TV screen then I'll happily be a paid up member.
The snivelling Scouse wretch.

Back to Carragher, there are probably more people in Europe who share his views than those who don't, and these are people in positions of significant influence in football. FIFA, UEFA, IFAB and more. That's the bigger concern for me.
I didn’t want to entertain this gaslighting bs but I will. There's too much of a cryfest race protest over AFCON not being a huge competition. It isn't. It's pretty obvious no one is winning Ballon D'or from AFCON performances. Most people don't know most the players of the winning team, or any of them for that matter
It's a decent competition, I used to watch in the 90s, it's not a poor level and neither is the Championship or the leagues outside the Top 5 in Europe. But neither is it of the same level as the elite. Crying racism over that doesn't make logical sense
I'm no Joe Public and Micah >>>>>> Michael Cox. Haven't read anything in ages from him but Cox dresses a lot of obvious stuff in fancy terminology and in other instances it's just pure waffle. Noncething with a journalism degree.

When his mate Slippy was flirting with Madrid and Chelsea, that was fine. The Egyptian guy who has done more for Liverpool FC than Everton supporter Jamie Carragher could ever dream of answers a question about his contract and this clown makes a federal case out of it. It's not hard to see why he and Gary Neville are thick as thieves. 2 ignorant tools who you rightly characterize as living in a bubble who think that by virtue of the demographic they belong to, any opinion they have is valid and worth sharing to the masses.
I didn’t want to entertain this gaslighting bs but I will.
The AFCON is the biggest prize an African player can win that isn’t the World Cup. It is therefore a huge tournament in the same way the Euros is a huge tournament for a European player. The last one had a worldwide audience of 2 billion people.
Difficulty of winning it is a different, subjective conversation, although a team like Morocco, who went further than England at the last World Cup, failed to reach the AFCON quarter finals.
Before belittling its quality, consider all the ethnic African talent playing for European nations - Saka (Nigeria), Isak (Eritrea), Musiala (Nigeria), Davies (Liberia), Mbappé (Cameroon), Yamal (Morocco), Nico Williams (Ghana).
The irony of the Ballon D’Or is that it is an award invented by France Football. From a nation that probably relies the most on a post colonial pipeline of African talent.
That cannot be the only benchmark.
