My main point I came to say in this thread was about G. Neville though.
Completely bonkers saying one of the Liverpool players should go to 'whack' Martinelli.
This is the problem with cultural appropriation. The swastika is an ancient symbol that has been around for 7000 years and originally meant good fortune but try walking through any western airport today with one on your T shirt and see what happens.

You just have to accept that depending where you are, different cultural contexts apply and we can and all will get caught out from time to time. Shay Given reacted to it well I think.

I don't think that a word should only be used in a certain way though, purely because one religious group said so, as if their lives lost meant more than the others that died. Not on board with that.
