He should at minimum come out and take some of the heat off Arsène. Showing some support to the manager would be the minimum requirement, not hiding behind him.

Unless Ivan is buying, training and motivating these guys I don't see why he should be supporting him. Ivan has stood behind Arsène many a time perhaps now even he is seeing what some have said for a long time.

Major League Soccer in the United States,

has become the latest administrator to turn

down a big football job in Manchester because

he did not fancy relocating there.

Gazidis,43, a double Oxford football blue,had

been lined up for weeks to become Manchester

City executive chairman, according to U.S. sources.

Like former BA chief Martin George, who was

offered the commercial director's post at

Manchester United but did not want to leave

London, Gazidis does not want to bring back his

family from Connecticut, where the MLS have

their headquarters.

The snub is all the more remarkable as Gazidis,

who has a wife and two sons, professes to be a

City fan and went to school in Manchester.
