What people do expect from him. He won't come out and sack the manager its not his job. If he came out and speak negative things about the club Kroenke and chips will sack him. So keep him shut

He should at minimum come out and take some of the heat off Arsène. Showing some support to the manager would be the minimum requirement, not hiding behind him.

I think that's what people are wondering - what exactly does he do?

* Not involved in hiring/firing the manager.
* Nowhere to be seen while the club and manager are being burned at the stake.

Though he does (as someone else pointed out) get us commercial deals that are pulverized by Man Utd & co. 5 minutes later- Oh.

I want Ivan to come out and actually define what Arsenal FC is right now. What is our project, what are we building towards? We're literally lost in a sea of darkness right now and to me, we're meandering along in a vast ocean of nothingness.

What do we have to sell to prospective players when we come calling, asking them to join us?

That's what Ivan has to do.

Said it before, the club operates in darkness really. We don't know anything.

"There are no "knowns." There are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say there are things that we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we do not know we don't know. So when we do the best we can and we pull all this information together, and we then say well that's basically what we see as the situation, that is really only the known knowns and the known unknowns. And each year, we discover a few more of those unknown unknowns.

It sounds like a riddle. It isn't a riddle. It is a very serious, important matter."

That is a hell of a lot clearer than Wengers tactics at the moment.

Unless Ivan is buying, training and motivating these guys I don't see why he should be supporting him. Ivan has stood behind Arsène many a time perhaps now even he is seeing what some have said for a long time.

Then again maybe he's just an arsehole and doesn't want his own backside roasted.

What's Gazidis exactly guilty of besides sticking by the man who got him the job in the first place?

Where does this City fan stuff come from?
Daily Fail said:
Ivan Gazidis, the deputy commissioner of

Major League Soccer in the United States,

has become the latest administrator to turn

down a big football job in Manchester because

he did not fancy relocating there.

Gazidis,43, a double Oxford football blue,had

been lined up for weeks to become Manchester

City executive chairman, according to U.S. sources.

Like former BA chief Martin George, who was

offered the commercial director's post at

Manchester United but did not want to leave

London, Gazidis does not want to bring back his

family from Connecticut, where the MLS have

their headquarters.

The snub is all the more remarkable as Gazidis,

who has a wife and two sons, professes to be a

City fan and went to school in Manchester.
