A few rumours linking him to Liverpool. I hope he's not messing with us or demanding guaranteed playing time. We need him signed up abd a decision on Ramsey before easter.

Dear Bald Headed One,

Please offer Jack a contract, a proper contract because it's getting a bit ridiculous now that we have a player who is home grown, exceptionally talented, who wants to stay at the club and has publicly stated he wants to sign a new contract, yet there seems to be some sort of delay or hold up as usual.

Regards.

No way in hell he is leaving, just takes time to sort it out, especially with the club offering him a lower basic wage.

The club's position seemed quite clear and Wenger said the only stumbling block was money. I hope JW backs himself to be undroppable in the team and isn't demanding a Walcott type contract.

Wilshere wants to stay, Wenger wants him to stay. Jack stays unless someone above Wenger is an a**hole and don't want him here anymore.

Can’t believe he’s really back. Would give anything for him to stay fit now. Everbody loves wilshere, its just the injuries that made him a problem.

Opposition fans hate him :p
I think the FA now love him(world cup in mind?), thus the refs seem more keen on protecting him.

He seems much more wise in the tackle now, we have a stronger squad now, enough not to over use or take chances with him, thoroughly worth a punt, get it done.

Jack Wilshere is close to agreeing a contract extension, according to reports.
The new deal would have a lower basic salary with financial incentives related to his appearances.

Friday’s Telegraph and Daily Mail both write that the midfielder is ready to sign on to stay at Arsenal.

New deal for Wilshere

Daily Mail, 9 Feb 2018

That’s good news for the Gunners given Wilshere’s current deal expires at the end of the season. If club and player can’t find an agreement before summer, he can leave for free.

The two reports disagree on exactly how much the 26-year-old would be paid though.

The Mail think Wilshere is currently on £100,000-per-week, and Arsenal want to reduce that to £80,000-per-week.

Meanwhile, the Telegraph say he’s going from £110,000-per-week to £90,000-per-week.

The Telegraph add that the Hale End Academy graduate never wanted to leave, even when Arsenal were ready to sell him last summer.
