Think its incorrect move. There isnt a better manager to be around than Arteta. If Wilshere is serious he should stay and soak in everything he can from Arteta.

You learn nothing coaching at clubs like Norwich but coaching a club like Norwich.
That is really my gut feeling too, but you want to be positive.....You'd think he'd learn more under Arteta....

Arteta will be here for a decade, plenty of time for young Jack to cut his teeth with some competitive football coaching and then come back to finish his training.

He did quite well with the kids. It was funny reading back through the last couple pages here and seeing all the woe is me posts from the usual suspects when he was appointed.

Please tell me I was not one of those suspects. I need some wins.

Yeah but you have to have ambition and push yourself. He's not going to get a managers gig off the back of managing youth sides at Arsenal and there's a ceiling as to how high he can get here.

He needs to experience life outside the PL and build a reputation there as that's where he'll get his first opportunity ( hopefully) in management.

We are English. We tackle hard, are tough on the pitch and are hard to beat.

“We have great characters. You think of Spain and you think technical but you think of England and you think they are brave and they tackle hard. We have to remember that.”

Thoughts? He’s right about the English bit but the last thing about tackle hard is caveman stuff.

Agree. That last bit is embarrassing. It’s something I would expect to hear from old guy in the street. Not someone who been at arsenal most of his life and played premier league and international football.

I'm pretty sure he said that when he was just 20 or so. If his views haven't changed since then he shouldn't be a coach working with kids but drive a forklift on his own somewhere.

Yeah he said it when he was 21. But it’s a reminder for us who watched him as kid why his career was ravaged by injuries. He was a moron who constantly got in stupid situations by holding the ball too long or got in tackles he had no chance winning. Thinking he was hard cause he’s English

Yea I loved Wilshere but he was basically disabled. He's lucky he's white if he weren't AM would have brought out the rulers to measure his headsize.

This is the thing about media and the internet because every stupid **** you've ever said gets immortalised and people can never divorce it from you even after you've moved away from it.

The strange thing is, give it 50 years, and those digital sources might be all gone. It might be easier to dig through microfilm archives on Doug Lishman than finding sources for whatever Saka might have said online.

It was tackling hard and being tackled harder that cut short his career. I get the sentiment but I never thought he was that bright when he said this. That's why his foray into coaching surprised me. I think he's a bit more cerebral now.

Yeah. He was a victim of dumb mentality of being hard meant getting in stupid tackles when there’s no need for it. The tackle that changed Diabys career was in a game that was over. Think we were 3 up in stoppage time and he was in our half going nowhere when a moron decided to show he was a hard man and put in a crazy tackle.

We were actually the victims of three such horror tackles. All based by "Arsenal don't like it up'em" - well who ****ing does?
