Well, the debate I was referring to happened a while ago and it was the Arteta fans claiming Arteta was right to play him there, so maybe they lacked the common sense.

Furthermore there is no way to know whether his chopping and changing is a core Arteta approach, him not knowing his best 11, or managing the admittedly hectic schedule. This will be answered this season with less fixtures and a whole season under his belt.

Ideally we should, but I don't think we can 100% rule out Auba ever playing left wing again, but it depends on our signings this summer.

Well, whether Arteta was right to play him at LF in 19-20 and until Pepe was in form / ESR was an option post-Ødegaard signing (not to mention Gabi return), isn't the same debate as whether he would be right to play him as a LF now.

Anyways, Tuchel turned Auba into a fine poacher / 9. That's the player he needs to be for us, especially as he's growing older and doesn't have the same brutal pace and acceleration he had before. Of course we need to create far more for him and generally play far better football. If you play with a poacher like Auba you need quality fooballers and chance creators behind him (saying nothing of a manager that needs to elicit better football re: chance creation from the tools at his disposal).

If Auba can't make it as a 9 for us this season then we'll have made a big mistake on his signing and/or Arteta will show himself to definitively not be the right man for the job.

Something's going on with him, seems to have come back to pre-season late, isn't in any of the photos, and apparently has a story coming out about him in the coming days in The Sun newspaper. Apparently he's been a naughty boy but it could all be bollocks.

We'll want 60m+ though I'd imagine, not sure if you'll pay that after paying 50m for Ben White? He has injury niggles every season too, he's probably only properly fit for 1/3 of the season.

Typical Arsenal.When you needed a big name defender.. signed pepe for 70 million and luiz for 8 million.
Now they had a defender in Saliba but have signed white for 50 million but cant pay for Buendia or maddison.No 10 is the biggest signing needed at Arsenal.

The Athletic is reliable but I think Bell have proved to have better sources than them. We shall see.
