Jarrel Quansah

Quansah is 6”3, good on the ball and a massive threat on set pieces.

Think he’s an average defender but hopefully he can hide in our system. If the fee and wages are ok then it’s fine.
Less room to hide to an extent if Timber is not fit for the start of the season on the right (+maybe Rice has limited minutes) etc. I think Konsa is a much safer signing if we wanna not miss a beat and maximise chances for another PL. But I’d see why we’d go for Quansah too.

He's better than Konsa and put in some decent shifts for Liverpool when they really needed him. Not a horrible signing for the alleged fee. If the club are determined to do this instead of sign an actual RB this one probably one of the least offensive hybrid CB/RB signings we could make and because he's very young, homegrown and English he'll still have solid resale value regardless.

How is it a Berta signing when were getting a premier league experienced, England international center back that can do a job as a fullback named Quansah, since we are being priced out of our first choice premier league experienced, England international center back that can do a job as a fullback named Konsa?

A profile that's being targeted because our other Premier league experienced, England international center back that can do a pretty good job as a fullback named Ben White has fitness issues and our starting now premier league experienced, Dutch international center back who can do a job as a fullback is also currently out long term.
Mosq is exactly that profile, thus I prefer the reverse for more variable options, an RB that can do a good job at CB. There are several in EPL or abroad with good showing last season, example Mukiele at Sunderland or Pubil at AMadrid (surprised Berta didn't aproach him). On Quansah, he should be a good buy if reasonably priced, not ideal, but should do good.

We allegedly did approach them and they told us he's not for sale.

Whenever our CB situation isn't quite 10/10, you can always back Arteta to go nto the market.

Be great if he could soon look at our negative out of 10 left wing/centre forward position soon, but no rush when trying to sign an elite player like this 👍

He’s weak and error prone. There’s a reason he was kicked out from Liverpool

This club wants to pay PL premium for players who don't even play in the league

I don't really rate him but if we can pay less than £45m and pay him less than £100k a week then it's probably an ok deal

In Sami Mokbel's piece on the BBC website, he mentions that this may be a tactic to get Villa to bring the price down.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.

Try to get Konsa to push a little bit and get a deal over the deal. Sounds like our kind of move.
Great tactic. Villa don’t wanna sell Konsa. But now they may want to sell their best defender late in August cause we linked with someone else lol. Truth is we are in panic mode because Timber and Saliba are out for a while and both have an uncertain season ahead of them. Hence we are approaching everyone

The reason he was sold is because he wanted regular game time and he represented pure profit in a summer they were determined to spend half a billion on attackers and wingbacks. They also allegedly have a buyback clause, something you don't insert in a deal if you "kicked a player out".
