Gyökeres probably doesn't quite our slow build style, he'd be lethal in the quick transitions we saw in 22/23.

Worth keeping an eye on Hato, playing predominantly LB this season. I'd be surprised if we didn't go back for him this summer.

That's my question mark with Gyokores + the league he's in.

Can’t really question the “ league he’s in “ when City ( apparently the best team in the PL ) were struggling with him in the CL. Not to mention he’s got an impressive record in the CL already.

I can, he played vs an 18 year old CB but also City don’t play like 90% of the PL.

There's always the option to play quicker and it certainly becomes easier if you have Gyökeres in attack than a Jesus/Havertz.

City have almost an identical build up style to us but I'm not seeing that many goals in here for Haaland against settled defences. Apart from the crazy acrobatics and the contested headers I think Gyökeres or Isak score most of the type of goals in that video.

This thing about next striker having to be able to totally dominate the box against settled defences is being overstated imo. Might as well bring back Giroud if that's the case. Those guys are supposed to be plan Bs in top teams, not main pieces.

Even City change how they played to fit Haaland so it's not unfeasible we adapt to what good strikers are available

Would much rather Kolo Muani than Gyökeres. The latter has a bit of donkey in him and we got Havertz for that; also we *badly* need pace

Would probably still do well playing for a team creating loads of chances but playing for someone who would rather draw 0-0 than win 4-3 you need someone who can do everything on his own

Is he really good or just had a one off season in Germany. Enrique don’t seem to rate him at all. Mind you I really doubt he would rate Havertz either

Nah he really is that good, you can't fake the level he performed at in a mediocre Frankfurt side. He did everything, was playmaker, outlet with pace/runner in behind, target man etc all rolled into one, that's why I think he'd do well for us because we need someone who can do everything. He's been in a rut for over a year now, he might be sulking in training or something no idea why Lucho doesn't pick him.

Gyökeres is a) too slow and b) without someone feeding him he's a bit useless. If you want a classic #9 get Osimhen whose pace and work rate mean he'll at least be a nuisance if the team is bland creatively

I’m sure he knows more about Frankfurt than you do. I doubt you ever watched them play. Also Muani is a non starter anyway for very obvious reasons

He does know more about Frankfurt. My whole recommendation for Muani was based on how highly @jones rates him.

Seriously how thirsty are you? Has it been a while?

Kolo Muani would fit in perfectly here because he loves missing 1v1s with a chance to deliver silverware so Nelli and Trossard will enjoy the company. On a more serious note, an attacker has to be brought in. Whomever is handling transfers needs to be on their game because this squad right now has nowhere near enough in attack even when everyone is fit. Every option at LW is a midtable level player.

100%. I can see Amorim kick out Rashford straight away and him being available in January

I suspect they might try to have a quiet January and trust Amorim to improve what they already have. I think he would rather have a decent summer budget to go and get someone like Gyokeres or Diomande to start his project. I don't know how good their financial situation is given all the money they've spent on 7 Hag's players and all the cuts they're looking to make.

Arsenal Quotes

A team can attack for too long. The most opportune time for scoring is immediately after repelling an attack, because opponents are then strung out in the wrong half of the field. All the men are expected to play to plan, but not so as to stifle individuality
