What a peach of a goal. Annoying that we didn't bid for him as we were waiting to offload Eddie first. Sadly I think the chance to sign him has gone. Think he'll end up somewhere next year where he will be first choice.

He said no
I'm sure I heard that the Athletic said that we never actually bid although we were interested in him. We said we needed to offload first. However, Sesko wanted his future sorted quickly before Euros and opted to stay.

He had a release clause. There was no need for a bid. You'll notice nobody triggered his release clause because he communicated to all interested parties that he was staying. He would be an Arsenal player if he wanted to leave. He was the primary target but logically you don't trigger the release clause unless the player is actually willing to leave which he was not. It's a weird thing to be presented evidence that he chose not to move and then keep arguing for no reason when your assertion is proven wrong.

Should we get rabiot or someone on a free?
I'd be surprised if we do. It doesn't seem to be in line with our transfer priorities in recent times. You might argue that the injuries makes this a potential proposition, but what signal do that send to our younger players?

We'll see, but I think it is unlikely.

I don't care signals to young players when half midfield is out already

Reckon it was Seško or no one at CF this summer. He knew he wouldn’t be first choice and didn’t want to impede his own development. Good on him. He’ll be here next summer and then he will be at least odds on to start. If we’re looking real short in January (inevitable Jesus injury etc) we’ll see us try for him then already.

Arsenal Quotes

Right from his very first match, when Patrick Vieira was as yet unknown to the English public, he showed just how talented he was. No one disputed his ability, and he gave me the credibility and the hold over the club that I needed to take it in the direction I wanted. He and Emmanuel Petit became a duo that would remain forever etched in the memories of Arsenal fans.
