Read somewhere that he has ingrown toenails and doesn't want to play in a cold climate because he needs special treatment to prevent from getting sore. Where I come from there is rain or snow 300+ days a year. The wind is often between 30-55m/s. Our summer is about 20-40 days where the temperature goes up to 15°C.
