I did last season... but i'm happy to say he's proved me wrong and i'm confident with him in goal.

At times last season I really thought he needed to go, but I don't feel that way now. We will need someone younger eventually though.

I thought Lehmann was consistently excellent last season, apart from the obviouys mistakes. His catching, decision making and shot stopping are all fine and he seems to have cut out the silliness from last season, so again no worries there.

actually I think this season he is alot better with his shot stopping making great saves I normally wouldn't expect of him.
not to mention stopping with the anger attacks.

Eh, he is great now. I trust Wenger. I think he can still go on for a good 2 seasons. Frey would be good though.

NO.
Lehman is a perfect keeper for us.
He seems to have good understanding with the defence and the rest of the team.
He just fits the team.
Even today against Norwich he made sure we keep our precious three points in tact.

He had a great game today. Kept out Holt and Huckerby just fine. Leave Jens alone. Stability and continuity is the key to any team and changing keepers is a no no.

I think that last season was just settling in time for Jens. He has gelled well with the back line, and has been pretty much flawless this season. Quick reflex saves, and none of the temper tantrums so far. It remains to be seen how he will do once the Champs League starts.

Yes, unlike apparently most of you here im not so fickle as to change my opinion after a couple of games. Last year 95% of you wanted his blood, now suddenly a change! He cocked up majorly against boro that cost us yet another goal. Just as i begin to give him a chance he ****s up again.
Yesterday he did well, if of course you fail to look at the 3 crosses he came out for and got nowhere near, and the lauren last man foul incident where he was in no mans land, which is something you dont do against huckerby.
Hes been sent off 4 times in 4 years, having that sort of eratic behaviour cant do the defence any confidence. Im going to have to put up with him on goal because theres nothing i can do about it. But he really isnt good enough, ive said it before, and i will stand by my view until he goes 5 games without costing us a goal. Maybe the fact that most of you dont know seaman when he was in his prime. He would save us so many almost certain goal. Jens just dont do this as much as a top keeper does. For 1 more year as a stop gap he will do, but we do need someone alot more solid.

AW will eventually look at other 'options' not because of Lehmann's form/quality but because of his age. Almunia and Taylor are more than qualified understudies.

I dont really know. There are always things i see that make me lose confidence in him. He loves those army rolls.

How repetitive. Best keeper in the EPL.
Repetitive yes, best keeper :| really cannot see how the most bias gooner could come to that conclusion. The mistakes hes made really arnt what the best keeper would make. Cant recall niemi costing his team 8 goals in a season through ****ish mistakes.

stack has been doing really well at millwall. every weekend on skysportsnews they always show him making a couple of excellent saves. the good thing is that at millwall, he will get tested regularly.

Sorry guvnor, but that statement is not very balanced.

The Boro goal was not a ****-up. He expected a cross, and would have caught it (like all the other crosses that he catches), but that shot was incredible and caught him by surprise. That´s the price you pay for a keeper that actually goes for crosses.

You talk about 3 crosses he did not catch yesterday !? What game have you seen. When he rolled over the cross went clearly outside. Are you going to punish a keeper now for a cross that could have went in? What kind of hypothetical judgement is that?

And now the Lauren foul. What the heck are you talking about? Lehmann was about to approach Huckerby once he went through. Should he stay on the line? I cannot relate to your statement, its plain out of the line.

And now finally: "He has been sent of 4 times in 4 years". Are you talking about the 26 year old Lehmann at Schalke ??? I am not eve sure that this statistic is correct, I might look it up. But I cannot take that statement serious. Lehmann is at Arsenal now and hasn´t been sent off once.

In fact, his reaction, when getting knocked over by that Scandinavian fella was plain calm (instead Kolo and Lauren attacked the guy)...

Sorry, but he has been great last season in the EPL and he is much more settled now. Remember whom he has been replacing. He fits the team well.

But critizising Lehmann for yesterdays game is just not appropriate.

he was great in yesterdays game. as long he makes no more blunders, no bad tempers. then he could have another one or two years.

great job jens!

I have had my doubts about Jens. But one thing for sure is that he has improved and may be he is feeling guilty for costing us important matches. And also the fact that we have never lost in EPL with him in goal is good for his CV.

He deserves a chance.!!

He was really good yesterday. I feel a bit more assured now, though we'll have to see how he does in the big matches.
