If they want too much we should walk regardless, line up either Bentley or one of Chelsea's many keepers who best fits our style.

Worst case scenario begovic is looking for a club right now!

He will be available in January and then next season come what may if seeking release fee only.

Begovic rejoined Everton on 1 year deal

What's with this clubs priorities? Spending 20-30mil on a 2nd GK who will likely not play any games outside of the league cup is bizarre stuff when you got a pressing need for a forward. Could that not have been used as part of a fee to activate a Gyrokeres/Williams release clause?

It’s not a money thing, it’s about the players available. If Nico Williams wanted to come we’d pay his clause regardless of what happens with the GK’s.

Nico does not want to leave Spain. He wanted Barca but they're too broke to afford him so he's staying for the year. If he wanted to be an Arsenal player, the clause would have been paid already and he'd be here. You can't just abduct players; they need to want to join.

I'm seeing people on Reddit say we should just pay the release clause if the club see him as Rayas successor. We literally just signed Raya this window wtf

Raya is also what, 28? How **** will this guy be having sat on his arse for 5 or 6 years waiting for Raya to drop a level.

Goalkeepers deemed "good enough/elite" and pushed to be signed by Inaki Cana:

- Rúnarsson
- Matt Ryan
- Ramsdale
- Turner
- Raya
- Garcia

€100m right there.

Tbf the more expensive Ra ones have been good. Turner was sold for a profit & paid for Runnarson.

If Garcia is here to compete & turns out to be better than Raya in time it's a good move.

List what Chelsea have spent on keepers if you want real meltdown madness.😁

As I said before if we were dropping big money on a talented forward nobody would really bat an eyelid.

But yeah I get the optics.
