Same, I was messing about Eboue.

I don't tend to judge a player on a few short clips on youtube, but have to as there's no other means to judge this guy, I haven't even heard of the club he plays for let alone try to find a match on tv/online... And from them clips, he has that extra something.

And for 1m, how can Wenger resist.

The reason he's so cheap ?

He's played eight full games of Costa Rican top flight football and scored one goal.

He does look quality on youtube and you have to say he has a peach of a left foot.

But if we'd paid any more for him it would have been ridiculous.

I still want OX here to complete our attacking options for the future. If we kept the majority of players here and they mastered the football we play, who knows what we could transform into.

But when a player of his age tears another international team apart, you have to say this is a real coup

So we sign 19-year old Costa Rican striker/winger Joel Campbell. Fantastic...just the experience, leader in the centre of defence we need!

You think Wenger himself flew to Costa Rica to close the deal? Or maybe that 1.5 million US dollars is a waste of money for someone like Campbell. Maybe you're thinking that we're misusing our South American scout, and that the experienced leader of our defence can be found in the South or Central American leagues, and that he should be looking there?

Younggunsblog just reports that the fee's been agreed so i expect this will be wrapped up soon. Great! We will have a new no. 12. Pacy, dynamic, dead ball specialist and good finisher(all in that left foot), has a lot of strength for a 19 yr old and can play all across the frontline. For ~1m you just can't go wrong even if it doesn't work out. Still can't see how neymar's 50m if this lad's for 1m.

That football scout Karlsen wrote about Campbell on his twitter. Said he's pacey, good dribbler and most importantly a very good shot on him. For the price mentioned he said it's a very shrewd move by Arsenal.

The attacker's father, Humberto Campbell acknowledged that everything is ready for signature, as there is already an agreement between him and the teams Saprissa and Arsenal, but expect to meet last night with his wife to make a decision.

"We got another very good offer from one of the great English team, which is just as interesting in the sport to Arsenal, but more economically.

"I will meet now with my wife and together we will make the decision whether to give Arsenal the other or wait for the other option or something else," said Campbell, who declined to say what would that new interests.

President purple, Juan Carlos Rojas, supported the statement by Campbell and made it clear yesterday that after the decision is in their hands, because the offer is already on the table and only remaining sign.

"Everything is ready, there is already an agreement between clubs and with it (Humberto Campbell), so it only remains to wait for their decision, which should be tomorrow (today)," said Rojas.

Neither party would disclose how much is the economic amount to be paid by the attacker but the novel itself purple chief made it clear that it is "far superior" to the $ 2 million (¢ 1.022 million).

League is very weak
That article is from yesterday morning if I'm not mistaken, things have very much advanced in AFC 's favour since then.

$1.5m

Confirmed or confusing?

If he ends up with us, he'll be a sensation. He's already far FAR in advance of the likess of Oxo Chambermaid IMO. He's good enough for Arsenal and the premiership at present, I have no doubt.

Well, now all we need is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, some 21/22 year old £4m defender from the French league and it will be a standard issue Arsenal summer.
