I thought he was a bit hopeless the few times he tried to advance a bit, but I've no doubt his leadership in terms of organising things was vital so I'll give him a pass.

Thought he struggled playing ahead of the ball for the majority of the game, while the [redacted] behind him played the deeper role. Neither player had the right chemistry with the other.

More concerning than his off the ball stuff was the amount of times he got caught in possession. Happened twice that I can remember where it led to dangerous attacks.

Poor game from him IMO. Winning a game doesn’t mean everyone automatically played well.

He was poor on the ball, and off it. He really looked like he’s lost a yard of pace since last season.

The legs have gone. Rodri called him old the other day while complimenting him. Arteta basically said it was amazing that he can even play 90 minutes at his age after the match today. Everyone can see that the quality is there in certain actions but the legs just aren't anymore. To be fair, this is one of the toughest fixtures for a player who has entered the phase of his career that he's now in because of how chaotic the Spuds make it and how much they want to turn it into a transition game. I think there will be games in Europe and domestically that are more suited to what he is now. He was bad but he was also needed today and gave it everything he had.

He’s had a good game but a lot of fans don’t really understand football outside of the physical aspect so they won’t give him credit.

This is why England never win anything btw, can never appreciate a player like Jorginho in this country. You lot would prefer that spam head Maddison.

His influence on yesterday's game was immense

Cba posting them but EBL also mentioned how vital Jorginho was in the press and how he was also there to help win the 2nd and 3rd balls when we went direct to Havertz. It wasn't a game where he controlled proceedings but given how much he was given to do I think he did a superb job, not many with his obvious limitations could've executed the game plan as well as he did today

Him and Partey bring the worst out of eachother really, but thought both played well all things considered.

Should be playing more imo, more reliable and a better leader than Thomas anyway.
Partey is still 10x stronger than Jorginho. Partey is still winning duels meanwhile Jorginho can't win any. If he doesn't play in Pirlo role with a lot of time and space he is out. But I agree his best partner is Rice.

I should start my own football twitter page since I know way more than these guys people treat like an authority on the game.

He came in cold, similar to the last NLD. I don't blame Mikel too much for this one though.

Underrated post... If there was a game where we needed him it was this one. It's his first game of the season but he still has top quality in his passing range. Him and Partey did OK against their first choice midfield.
