Jorrel Hato

If true and big if, there must be a specific reason for this signing. With Gabriel, Kiwior, Calafiori and MLS, we are well stacked at LCB/LB. So either Kiwior is off or MLS will be moved to midfield. Either way, our focus should not be prioritizing LB or LCB. We need a LW, CF and another DM ...

It feels like with the potential heating up around Rodrygo, what appears to be a stalemate with sesko and Gyokeres perhaps becoming the main striker target, that Hato would make a lot of sense. Perhaps this is showing that arteta is willing to tweak tactics for the players he can get? But I'm really just spit balling here and haven't seen enough of Hato to say 100%.

At first glance, signing Hato doesn't make much sense even if he is immensely talented, but I think it could make a lot of sense if Arteta thinks either Hato and/or Calafiori can play RCB. Also, if this is the case, I think we might be able to adjust our tactics in defense, when needed.

This season when Saliba got suspended Kiwior had to play RCB and he didn't look good in that position. Normally, left-footed players struggle at RCB, so I wasn't surprised by Kiwior's struggles, but Hato and Calafiori are much more versatile and better on the ball than Kiwior.

RCB is the position where we need more depth, so I hope Arteta thinks Hato or Calafiori can play there. Plenty of right-footed defenders play LCB, so it isn't farfetched that a left-footed CB could play RCB.

Next season our defensive depth will probably be: RB; Timber, White - RCB; Saliba - LCB; Gabriel (Kiwior, he may leave) Calafiori - LB; MLS, Hato. I'm not expecting anything from Tomiyasu. Regardless of whether Kiwior leaves or stays, we need someone who can play RCB, so I hope the plan is for Calafiori or Hato to play there when needed.

Lastly, both Calafiori and Hato are very good on the ball, and can invert into midfield from LB. So if they end up playing CB for us, either RCB or LCB, they can also invert into midfield from CB. Two seasons ago, Guardiola used Stones like this and it was very effective. Not saying that we should do this every match, but it would be a good option to have.

I think this could be a good signing if Arteta plans on him, or Calafiori, being an option at RCB.

White and Timber can comfortably cover RCB

White and Timber can definitely play there, but they're also our only RBs and Timber is coming back from an injury. If one of them gets hurt, then we don't have a backup RB or RCB, and that would be a problem.

At LB, we already have MLS and Calafiori, and at LCB we have Gabriel and Kiwior, that's why buying at third LB/LCB makes sense if we think Hato or Calafiori can play RCB.

They have to count with Tomiyasu doing something next season also?
My I’m mean otherwise just cancel his contract.
Right? (Just took a hit from the copium bong mind)

Would be a very proper buy and we can also play Kelly more often in midfield.
