Tbh, if anything this makes the Galatasaray people look racist. They hear monkey and the first thing their mind goes to is racism. There weren't even any African players on their bench.
I think they had one black player on the pitch and one on the bench so as you correctly say, the racism in this case was injected by them.

Is there some evidence about him being racist? Mourinho lose his cool during game lot of time at Chelsea he had this issue with thier female doctor in Italy he annoy the ref so much they just keep send him off. But he never really shouted racist things in his career if I'm not wrong

Given José's history, I don't think there was any racial connotation whatsoever to what he said. If I'm not mistaken, he still spends part of every offseason in Africa visiting former players and doing charity work with no fanfare and he's been a pretty vocal advocate for the merits of African football over the years.

I've never heard a whiff of an allegation of racism about Jose and there would have been at least one by now like there is about Pep for example. I think this is a bit of nastiness from Galatasaray to be honest and it's in really poor taste.
He and his wife have done a lot of great charity work, especially with the world food programme.

Yeah it's why as much as I despised him at Chelsea and he's a bit of a tit sometimes between the lines, I have a lot of time for him as a human being. He seems like a genuinely decent person outside of football.
There's also a reason his players love him. I don't think I've ever heard one of his players or ex-players speak bad about him.

That's always been a big difference between him and Guardiola. Players certainly respect Guardiola and probably admire him as a tactician, but are there many players who really like him as a person?

I mean he never really did anything other than football banter when you think about it. He clearly respects Wenger and just said **** to get under his skin.

Guardiola's man management is legendary so that's a bit of a weird point IMO. It takes unreal people skills to maintain the levels with largely the same players for so long, he's manages to assemble squads of class players that are all willing to play rotational minutes for years etc.

Obviously helps he wins everything and all that but as cringey as he is as a person you really can't fault him in this area.

Yeah but it's personal when it's your manager that he's fighting with, particularly when Arsène was competing with pennies and this guy had an unlimited oil budget. I get what you mean though. I've always maintained that he's one of the great entertainers and we miss him in the PL.

I'm sure there are some but there are very few outside of maybe Wenger who I feel are more beloved by ex-players basically to a man than Jose.

Yeah I'm not downplaying how Arsenal fans feel etc, he was obviously chatting **** playing with an unfair advantage and all that. It's just really telling that for someone known for being so tactically cynical and fairly ruthless, no one really has a bad thing to say about him like you said.

He strikes me as someone that if you give it your best and act honestly, he'll give you the same in return.

Yeah for sure. I think even Özil loves him and he used to be ruthless with him. I do definitely get the sense though with the way he speaks about his former players and the way they speak about him that he makes a tangible impression on their lives beyond just football. Guys speak about him the same way George Weah speaks about Arsène. Sometimes the theatrics make you lose sight of it but there's a lot more evidence that he's a good guy than a bad one.

Clownish behavior. Knocked out of the cup, knocked out of Europe by Rangers, and still in the title race but has the team on track to get less points than they had last year. Unfortunately he's more interested in being a troll and building a cult of personality than being a real top level manager anymore.

Not sure how he's survived, he's barefaced called the league corrupt numerous times and now he's putting hands on managers

The corrupt thing seems to be an open secret kinda thing though? Heard Babel talking about it so I guess it's commonly accepted. I could imagine Arteta getting his hands chopped off for criticising them Prem in a similar manner.

Wonder if Jose trying to get the sack maybe.

He's just a clown these days.

The other manager should be ashamed of himself for play acting like a little girl too though.
