Okay. You didn't answer the other questions.Anyone who watches sports will tell you it takes a year after returning before players start to look like themselves again.
I didn’t say it takes them a year to come back. I said they start to look like their pre-injury selves after a year of playing again.Okay. You didn't answer the other questions.
Timber got injured on 12.8.2023. Why on Earth did Timber start playing for the U21's in April if it takes a year for every player and every ACL injury?
22.4.2024 he played 45 minutes for U21's. 28.4.2024 he played 70 minutes. That's a bit over 8 months!
On 19.5.2024 he played 21 minutes in 2-1 win in EPL against Everton.
I think you should apply for a job to lead the Arsenal medical team. They are making horrible mistakes one after the other!

As a bonus Calafiori's injured all ligaments in his knee in October 2018, and returned in September 2019. Not only ACL, but all ligaments. How is it possible to return in under a year?
Sure. Let's go back to the arguments for clarification.I didn’t say it takes them a year to come back. I said they start to look like their pre-injury selves after a year of playing again.
No. Think it should be clear that Timber should be on the right. Maybe in top top games you pick timber on the left but 90% of the games you pick a natural player on the left like calafiori. I wish we would all (including our manager) start to understand that it is better to have as many players as possible in their natural position. You see now how Timber can dribble in tight spaces and link up on the right. You don’t want him dribbling inside because he is on the left.As it stands if everyone is fit you'd want Timber at LB and White at RB. That's our best defensive unit. Calafiori still needs a bit more seasoning.
Sure you're missing a bit on Timber offensively on the left but he's still very solid there but the link up White has with Saka / Ødegaard on the right is almost telepathic, you don't want to lose that.
I think we've got the best defensive options in world football tbh. A great group.
Because Arteta said just they were concerned about his workload.Sure. Let's go back to the arguments for clarification.
It's been 13,5 months since Timber's injury. He played even 21 minutes in EPL 19.5.2024 in a 2-1 win after adjusting with the U21's.
Now explain why Arteta should have risked losing points etc. this season by playing Kiwior, to rest Timber? When they monitor the players' health constantly, and we have no idea about?
Yes, of course they are. Just like with Calafiori. But not enough to risk losing points with starting Kiwior.Because Arteta said just they were concerned about his workload.
Players who’ve been out for a long time pick up muscle injuries quite often as they work their way back. Saw it with Eduardo, Diaby, Wilshere etc.Yes, of course they are. Just like with Calafiori. But not enough to risk losing points with starting Kiwior.
In any case, Timber performed well already 5 months ago. There is no reason to be overprotective because he has fully healed long time ago.
They will very likely get more rest very soon. Managers have to take risks sometimes. We can see Pep takes risks with his game-time, always favouring experienced better players no matter if they will be overplayed. Rodri got his injury in part because of that.
Yes, I know that. Arsenal and Arteta also know that. That's why they want to manage their minutes if possible.Players who’ve been out for a long time pick up muscle injuries quite often as they work their way back. Saw it with Eduardo, Diaby, Wilshere etc.
I didn’t act like anything, I based it off of Arteta’s own words. But Timber played EPL at good level already 5 months ago. You go by Arteta that he is worried about workload, but you act like you know better than the medical team and Arsenal if they can play him a bit more, ~13 months after the injury.
Yes, it usually takes players a year to get back to their pre-ACL form. Is that the case for Timber? You must’ve watched him regularly at Ajax to make that assertion.Because: "It takes over 12 months to get back to the normal level after any ACL injury."
I meant you act like you know better than them, when you say an injured Calafiori should have played instead of Timber. Or Kiwior.I didn’t act like anything, I based it off of Arteta’s own words.
“He’s played more minutes than we would have wanted”
If only there was something you could do about that
I don't need to watch Ajax regularly. I know how good Timber was for Arsenal before his injury, and he is back to that level. And naturally will only get better as he is young and is still adjusting.Yes, it usually takes players a year to get back to their pre-ACL form. Is that the case for Timber? You must’ve watched him regularly at Ajax to make that assertion.
I know how good Timber was for Arsenal before his injury
That's your only response? He played 76 minutes against treble winning City in 1-1 draw in Community Shield which Arsenal won in penalties. He was already at that level, and will only get better.
76 minutes isn’t a big enough sample size at all. That's your only response? He played 76 minutes against treble winning City in 1-1 draw in Community Shield which Arsenal won in penalties. He was already at that level, and will only get better.
Playing 20 minutes against Everton in a dead rubber is not comparable to playing 3 high intensity games in the space of 7 days. This argument is also only a distraction from our main argument, but I wouldn't expect anything more from you.
It was a treble winning City with Timber playing with a new team. It tells one a lot, there is no bigger test than that. That is on top of his level at Ajax (no I haven't watched them regularly).76 minutes isn’t a big enough sample size at all.
You failed to understand that this was 4,5 months ago. That's a huge amount of time to get ready physically. He didn't just return from ACL injury, it was a long time ago like I said.Playing 20 minutes against Everton in a dead rubber is not comparable to playing 3 high intensity games in the space of 7 days.
The doctors know better than me (and Arteta who started this) but not better than you. Okay.It was a treble winning City with Timber playing with a new team. It tells one a lot, there is no bigger test than that. That is on top of his level at Ajax (no I haven't watched them regularly).
He already showed similar level in the training matches. Now he has continued with that even after a horrible injury. It tells all we need to know about his basic level. He has been very solid with minimal mistakes during his time at Arsenal.
You failed to understand that this was 4,5 months ago. That's a huge amount of time to get ready physically. He didn't just return from ACL injury, it was a long time ago like I said.
That was after an international break, where he played 70 minutes in total. He was rested. Then played 90 minutes, then 73 minutes, then 90 minutes. After that wasn't in squad for Bolton, and then played 90 minutes against Leicester. And 45 minutes against PSG.
That is not a huge load after an international break and 13 months after an ACL injury. More than anyone would like, but injuries forced it. And you can see that they took him out of PSG game the first instance he felt discomfort. Arsenal staff estimate these with much better information and knowledge than we will ever have.
