I love this guy. He gives you 110% effort for 90 minutes every week. His hold up play and movement are top drawer. He battles and does the defensive work when needed and he basically played 2 positions simultaneously today doing his job and whatever Trossard was meant to be doing. Really pleased with him and for him.

I'm convinced he'd be in the NBA right now if he chose a different sport as a kid. Good frame, good IQ, and knows how to use his body effectively. It's interesting to watch him utilize his physicality at times because he doesn't always do the classic CF hold up "pin the defender" move that you see guys like Giroud make a career out of, he kind of has this style where he runs around barging into people but hey it is working.

What a player. Can be a little bugger on the field too if needed.

How things have changed in a year.

My initial feeling was to give him time at the start as I did feel that there could be a good player in there, but I was starting to have a lot of doubts. I'm so glad for him and us that he's proven himself - and especially in what's been a problem position for a little while barring a couple purple patches here and there. Jesus has definitely lost his place for me. I still like Jesus but I think - like Zinchenko - he's a player on borrowed time as he's already not a starter anymore.

Havertz next task is basically to not end up like Jesus - being usurped after a good spell before a slump. He's got to keep this consistency up. Given he's been good for a little while now, I'm feeling optimistic. He's doing almost everything right and is playing with a lot more contention. I do feel sometimes his final product still lacks the conviction of a truly confident and incisive player but he's such a strong performer of late that I do feel he'll step up there a little bit. We'll have to see, but I'm encouraged.
