Havertz isn't a natural forward but he was good last season after he was moved up front. Suddenly everybody is trying to convince us he has been dreadful all along. Nah I'm not having that. I would say though his mentality is quite weak, as soon as things start to go wrong for him he starts to sh!t himself in front of the goal, his legs turn into jelly.

Instead of trying to mock the guy who more than anyone knows he had a nightmare two games which knocked us out of two competitions here is something to ponder...

Martinelli was one of the best finisher in the league not long ago (so much so that Klopp described him as 'talent of the century'), right now is almost useless in front of goal

Ødegaard was a classy finisher last season, right now can't hit a barn door.

Go back a bit further. Lacazette had other issues but applying the finishing touch was never one of them, until he started to play for...

Auba the same.

I'm not saying it's all down to Arteta and in no way am I relieving anybody of their responsibility for their own performances but to me something doesn't seem right. In the case of Laca and Auba as soon as they left they became the ice cool finishers they always were. Even in the case of Jesus, he was never truly prolific but again with us he reached new depths. What in god's name happens to every forward we have had. Without exception all massively and unexpectedly decline the longer they play for Tets lol.

It just seems odd that this keeps happening, you can't put it down to purple patches.

P.s. I might add I still support Arteta (but will make up my mind depending how we end this season) so this isn't to bash him but I couldn't help notice this worrying trend.

There’s definitely something there. Could be as simple as just Teta asking them all to work too hard.

The Martinelli one for me is the most tragic as he’s a perfect example of a player who can do one thing and one thing only really really well and Arteta makes him do something else entirely. Now he’s a shell of the player he could/should be.

He should have just sold him instead. This should not have been a difficult choice.

Tbf there are parallels with Pep here (see Grealish). I don’t understand why they don’t just get players who fit their highly specialised system instead of getting these random guys and asking them to abandon their natural game. It’s some kind of narcissism I swear.

You need more than a few months of good form to prove that you are "good"....... the reality is that Havertz has 2 positive attributes: he runs a lot and he is tall. Other than that he is nothing special as a player. This is something more and more people are starting to realize.

Havertz doesn't suck but the truth is that if he looks good, it's only because of how dogshit the striker market is looking like right now.

Özil at 10 And Emery Out
Giroud is level(s) above Havertz
At what exactly? He played here 5 seasons with some elite attacking players alongside him playing Wengerball and could only score 11-16 goals per season. Never scored in big games and was useless unless crosses were spammed to him or there was an oppportunity to flick a first time pass round the corner. No threat in transition and could barely run with the ball without falling over.

Kai is actually levels above him

Think it might have something to do with how narrow we are and the fact that our chances tend to be in congested areas. Players might be rushing their finishes. Limited number of chances also adds pressure to the chances we do get. And then there's the resulting lack of confidence factor.

No, he isn't.
I have watched Giroud in AC Milan, and he was excellent there.
Check his statistics in this 3 seasons he spent in Milan.
Giroud is at least 1 level above Havertz, as goalscorer.

He was excellent in Milan, one of the main contributors to win scudetto in season 2021/22.
At certain point, about 18 months ago he was the most profilic goalscorer in Europe.
I watch Milan regularly, he was a lot better than he was for us but excellent or best goalscorer in Europe is a massive stretch.

You're a Milan fan but I take anything you say with a handful of salt tbh, Giroud excellent but Leao you keep talking sh*t about I'll be honest you're nuts man.

Leao is excellent when he wants to be.
And he wanted to be excellent in season 2021/22
Him, Theo, Giroud, Tonali, Kessie and Maignan were most important players that season for Milan.

It’s this exact type of fan that has actively encouraged and enabled Arsenal to become what we see today.

Focusing on the wrong stuff when it comes to attacking or creative players and now we have lumberjacks plodding around and our fingers crossed for set pieces.

It’s genuinely because of the majority think like HatoriHanzo, who would whinge and scold a Leao but praise a f*cking donkey like Giroud. The Havertz and them are inevitable and deserved unfortunately.

You don't have a clue, when it comes to Giroud and Leao in AC Milan.
In 3 seasons they have spent together, they both contributed a lot.
Giroud was always consistent, Leao had purple patches when he was excellent mixed with spells of 3-4 months when he wouldn't score a single goal and would looked completely disinterested.
Of course that AC Milan fans expected more from Leao, he is 13 years younger than Giroud.
In these 3 seasons, Giroud had 39G+17A in Serie A, Leao had 35G+30A.
Giroud was 35 when he arrived to Milan.
If you take into account Leao's talent and potential, he should have shown more.

You can ask any AC Milan fan what they think about Leao and Giroud.
I didn't expect much from Giroud, knowing him from Arsenal and taking into account his age.
I was pleasantly surprised with his perfomances for Milan.

And I have expected more from Leao. And I'm still expecting more from him, hoping that Conceicao can unleash him.

Arsenal Quotes

You kind of never leave Arsenal. How many comebacks do you make? At one point it will turn out to be a bad move. We all love the first Rocky but I'm not too sure about the last one.
