You did it with Rice too lmao, as soon as people turned on him you’re on about “he’s the least of our problems”.
You act like we’re still finishing 8th getting beat every week. I don’t sh*t on any of the players now really, why are you so desperate for me to be negative?

You don't have a clue, when it comes to Giroud and Leao in AC Milan.
In 3 seasons they have spent together, they both contributed a lot.
Giroud was always consistent, Leao had purple patches when he was excellent mixed with spells of 3-4 months when he wouldn't score a single goal and would looked completely disinterested.
Of course that AC Milan fans expected more from Leao, he is 13 years younger than Giroud.
In these 3 seasons, Giroud had 39G+17A in Serie A, Leao had 35G+30A.
Giroud was 35 when he arrived to Milan.
If you take into account Leao's talent and potential, he should have shown more.

You can ask any AC Milan fan what they think about Leao and Giroud.
I didn't expect much from Giroud, knowing him from Arsenal and taking into account his age.
I was pleasantly surprised with his perfomances for Milan.

And I have expected more from Leao. And I'm still expecting more from him, hoping that Conceicao can unleash him.
If you look at both play and need stats to tell you who had which effect on the team you might as well stop watching football. This here goes down as one assist for Leao and one goal for Giroud:

Yes Leao is inconsistent, every player is and unlike others Leaos highs are Ballon d'or level. Obviously Milan fans expect more from him, he's five or six levels above the donkey as a player.

It’s this exact type of fan that has actively encouraged and enabled Arsenal to become what we see today.

Focusing on the wrong stuff when it comes to attacking or creative players and now we have lumberjacks plodding around and our fingers crossed for set pieces.

It’s genuinely because of the majority think like HatoriHanzo, who would whinge and scold a Leao but praise a f*cking donkey like Giroud. The Havertz and them are inevitable and deserved unfortunately.
As for Havertz, I have always said that it was bizarre transfer of a player who wasn't priority and who is backup striker for title winning team.
And that Arsenal could have bought 10 other players before him.

They play in different position and have different tasks on the pitch.
Giroud is striker and as a striker he was good for AC Milan.
He knew how to hold the ball and he was very good in link up play for AC Milan.
And he scored all kinds of goals for Milan.
He played even as GK in match against Genoa in season 2023/24 when Maignan picked up a red card, after the club had used up all of its substitutions.
And he was included in Serie A team of the week as a GK for that performance.
AC Milan fans will never forget that.

Given his age, physicality and talent, Leao should be at least level above Giroud.
And he doesn't show this on the pitch, not yet.

I’m no fan of Giroud, far from it and some of the posts here glorifying him annoy the **** out of me. But he was better than Kai if we’re being honest.

That being said, I think Giroud was an even worse fit for that Arsenal team than Kai. He was the antithesis of what kind of striker we needed to pair with Özil.

lol I posted the clip of his "performance" as a goalkeeper on AM, ran out with his eyes closed and punched a whole in the air instead of the ball. You're not helping your case

At what exactly? He played here 5 seasons with some elite attacking players alongside him playing Wengerball and could only score 11-16 goals per season. Never scored in big games and was useless unless crosses were spammed to him or there was an oppportunity to flick a first time pass round the corner. No threat in transition and could barely run with the ball without falling over.

Kai is actually levels above him
Giroud's headers were one of the best in the business, not the Ronaldo/Lewa level, but on par with guys like Dzeko, Zlatan, Mandzukic (we are talking about putting the ball into the net, not winning aerial duels)
He massively improved his one touch finishing in the box throughout his career to compensate for his lack of agility/dribbling skills. Just those two things gave his enough edge against most CBs. What does Kai do better as a striker? He's faster, alright, how many goals in transition has he scored for us, 2 maybe? Hope you are not going to tell me about Kai's elite playmaking ability with 0,15xA/90.
Giroud had decent consistent numbers (12-15) for the 3rd attacking options on the team, Haverz got past 2 digits in just one season in England 💀

Honestly, I don't care what you think.
As an AC Milan fan, I'm satisfied with how Giroud have played these 3 seasons in Milan.
He has played much better than I expected, certainly better than his stint in Arsenal.
Maybe he is late bloomer, he needed time and experience to become better player.
Definitely better striker than Havertz.
Giroud headers were one of the best.
Havertz?
We saw against Newcastle last week.

As for Leao, I still expect more from him.
His compatriot Fonseca couldn't handle him, I hope that his other compatriot Conceicao can.

Then why did you start this discussion with me? How does this website keep attracting people who don't understand how a forum works?
Ok, I shouldn't have said that.
Let's say that we disagree about Giroud in AC Milan.
I would say that, given the expectations, he was one of the better AC Milan transfers under their current idiot owners.
That's all.

Under a better manager with better attackers next to him as well
Where were those better attackers? That team scored just 65 goals, and Giroud ended up as the top scorer after not scoring for 3 months.
I am not gonna cancel Giroud for that awful period, the club/Wenger should take the blame for having Welbeck and Sanogo as his backups.

The best thing about Havertz vs. Giroud debates is I can insert West Ham players and feel like they belong in the discussion.

I would straight up have prime Antonio over both of them

People just love making excuses for Özil, it’s never his fault but everyone else.

Sure Wenger's biggest failure was to trust this bumm when we had Özil and Alexis behind him. Yes others didn't pull their weight, Welbeck was useless, Theo I think tore his ACL, Cazorla almost lost his leg and Ramsey was a donkey that season, still none were so detrimental to our season as that donkey. Don't think Sanogo was at the club that season.

Like you better when you stick to meme posting btw.

Arsenal Quotes

I believe one of the best things about managing people is that we can influence lives in a positive way. That’s basically what a manager is about. When I can do that, I am very happy.
