What I will say is I don’t entirely even blame Havertz. Unless you guys can name me a striker in the past 5 years that has killed it in an Arsenal shirt?

Does Isak join Arsenal, wear the no 14 shirt and not become a meme as well?
Facts only Saka has really thrived as a forward for Arteta. However we do create a lot of chances Havertz fumbles so I think the idea is a better striker would finish but who knows?

If I am in Arsenal management team, I will emptied every penny in the bank to get Isak in the summer. He is the final piece of the puzzle.

We need to ignore the insane wages he’s on and treat him like a squad player. Sign a starting striker and put him on the bench. He’s good enough to make a contribution to the team as long as he’s not a regular starter and you don’t overly rely on him.

He keeps on rubbing it into our faces what we are missing this yr - the only striker to consistently make Gabriel and Saliba look average

System has changed since the days of Auba and Laca struggling at no9.

The team is much better and we’ve come a long way from the days of Auba feeding on scraps or Laca struggling with fitness and mobility.

Nowadays we are seeing clear signs of the chances being created and the main CF just not putting them away.

We would be winning this league easily with either of them now

You’re about to enter this phase:

90% bullsh*t what we’ve had to witness at CF in the past 5 years but at least it’s somewhat entertaining, we’re witnessing someone at this current time come on the pitch with their shoelaces tied and missing 3 yard sitters.

Someone needs to do a comp on his overall play with the ball. I don't know how many times this season he’s received a pass and failed to adjust his feet, so instead of controlling the ball, it hits his heel and bounces away. You're the highest-paid player on the team and one of the more experienced players. You can't be doing stuff like this. One of the worst signings in our club's history. Absolute clown.

Nah, he is the best striker for us. No one else can improve us, Isak will downgrade us like what many suggested in the previous pages.

In the 92nd minute, Havertz was still running and pressuring the goalie. Most strikers don't do that. He's amazing, could run in straight lines all day long

Havertz is similar to Auba in that they both get into good positions a lot but it’s take a few chances to finish. Albeit Auba is a better finisher he missed a lot as well.

Auba would easily be doing 25+ goals in the league in this team man was a killer in front of goal. He dropped off after signing that last big contract and he was unfortunate to be part of an unbalanced and dysfunctional attack but he was crazy clinical with his finishing in his first few seasons. One of my all time favorite Arsenal players.

I’m happy to lay off Havertz if we can just acknowledge this.

It’s not his fault he gets paid so highly, it’s not his fault that he’s our starting CF despite being a poor finisher. I can lay off him as he’s giving his all.

But I hate the attempts to gaslight fans into believing he’s this great all round footballer who provides so much and it’s just a shame he can’t finish or he’d be world class. Loose passes, heavy touches and overran dribbles is the norm for this guy.

Yeah, Auba also got more clinical when it mattered imo.

He’s always been a high volume type of striker but in that FA cup winning run he became super clinical. Also had much better footwork and ball striking than he was given credit for.

At the end of the day Auba was one of the best strikers of his generation. So I started off this post agreeing with you but I end it strongly disagreeing

There’s no comparison between the two imo.

It’s the biggest lie in football that he has great link up play or good on the ball. It’s one of those lazy things people repeat because they have heard it said over and over

@HagnSprayGooners also argued that there isn't much difference between Havertz and Isak. AM is a weird place sometimes.

Watch when we lose a game next. He will be hanged here regardless how he performed.
If anything this place is predictable, second only to tendency to have a meltdown.

I'm not here to say he was great, Havertz was never the solution to be our only goal getter but that's exactly what people are demanding from him. Ode has lost his shooting boots, Saka on the treatment table, Martinelli more preoccupied with stopping his opposite winger and even Trossard who used to chip in isn't scoring anymore.

Why is the whole responsibility of scoring only on his shoulders? Yes he has to take some responsibility for that as he is playing as a CF but it seems he is blamed for every game we lose. Forget about clean sheets or anyone else chipping in with the goals.

Take this game for example, our xG was less than a goal yet apparently he missed sitters, or a more clinical forward and we would have scored. We conceded 4 goals in this tie, which was ultimately the main reason we lost. Yet how many people have mentioned that? We have two major issues, conceding very cheap goals and not creating enough (from open play). Contrary to popular beliefs not being clinical is our third issue. Apart from a handful of games we are on par with our expected goals. Even in the City game people were moaning us being not clinical enough yet we scored 5 goals from an xG of 2.

I'm pissed off too how the season has turned out and Havertz might be responsible for a tiny bit of that but look at the games we lost or drew and most of them our defence let us down (with a fair bit of hand with stupid ref calls).

- Ahead in both games against Brighton..drew both (yes refs I know but should have defended better).

- City away, ahead...only to switch off from a corner deep in injury time.

- Liverpool at home, twice ahead both times lost it

- Chelsea away,ahead again...pegged back.

- Villa at home, 2-0...drew 2-2.

That's 12 points we threw away from winning position yet Havertz misses an expected 0.4 chances and somehow that cost us the game. So easy to put it all on him rather than accept we have more things to work at than getting a clinical striker.

While goals do change the flow of the game I'm not sure if we continue gifting teams goals we will keep dropping points. We need to become hard to score against again to have any chance of the title (defence wins you titles etc).
