I genuinely believe that by the end of the 2026 season, if we sign Zubimendi, Havertz will end up replacing Ødegaard in midfield.

Zubimendi and Ødegaard appear to have overlapping traits—both thrive in orchestrating play and maintaining tempo—but Zubimendi offers more defensive stability and positional discipline. That opens the door for Havertz to operate in a more advanced role.

With his work rate, physicality, and finishing ability, Kai brings a different dynamic to midfield—one that complements Zubimendi better than Ødegaard’s profile does.
That's a midfield for a consistent top 4 finish and will never challenge for the title.

League is very weak
Kai isn’t in the same bracket as Firminio either. Quality wise, but also Firminio was just so much cleaner in his work.

He played midfield before and was a passenger. We don't need to be seeing that again.

Kai isn't the problem. It's the fee and more importantly wages that get everyone worked up.

As a rotation player he'd be absolutely fine and an important squad member.

Whoever comes in he'll play a lot of games up top anyway.

If Gyokeres comes in you’d have to start him day 1 imo just because of the age factor.

If it’s Šeško which I really hope it ain’t then yeah Kai is starting next season.

We’re not almost paying him 300k to be a Gen Z Bendtner.

there we go, finally we are on the same track, if he has the same price tag as Giroud, I wouldn't be complaining

the problem is Arteta gonna find him a place in the starting eleven cause if his price tag. If there's a main striker coming, he wouldn't be a permanent bench player like Zinchenko, he'll play elsewhere.
Fully expected Gyokeres to come in, Havertz AMC and Ødegaard to the bench at this point. Probably for a good reason
But people expecting him to be a rotation player, yeah no, that's not gonna happen

The Havertz thread is busier during off-season than our transfer thread.

I still believe in him, tbh. With his unique skill set he could be the wild card in our squad. We just need to strengthen the LW and 9 position to not rely on him so much to be a striker.

It was a unique moment, a football fairytale. Was there anyone left who still believed I could give that kind of performance? Probably only Arsène Wenger.
