We're going to drop points with him as striker. Not saying he's bad btw but he has to start being more clinical. Still, he works his socks off and plays well so it's all good.

Can't Arteta "the guy who makes everyone better" improve his finishing?
Improving finishing is one step too far.

The fact he has him playing this well is already Mikel doing his job. Rest is up to Kai, and he’ll probably disappoint

This guy might become the worst striker to reach 20 league goals

The more I watch us the more I think even guys as frustrating as Jackson or Darwin could do well here.
He confuse the hell out of me sometimes he look never played football of his life sometimes he look elite. Only thing he consistent very good at is his movement

When I criticised Kai for his poor performance against City last people tried to fight me in the comments. He had another poor performance today. Am I allowed to give my constructive criticism today?

The 180 degree turn to head a ball on target with your back turned away from goal cannot be taught.

Sigh, he’s actually going to be our Giroud isn’t he?

There’s going to be the camp who look at his (admittedly impressive) numbers and say he’s good while there will be others who think what could have been when they see him stumbling around missing sitters.

For those who were here during the Giroud wars this is proof that everything really is cyclical.

He has a worldie in him once in a while, I do think he’s a decent shooter (technique) but a pretty bad finisher (composure, decision making when shooting).
I don’t think he’ll ever be a great striker of the ball consistently. It’s weird that we’re effectively gambling on that, I preferred the Wenger approach where you take a guy with elite traits like pace/shooting and coach then up to improve their link up, movement, passing etc. Seems easier to do that than the other way around.

Think Darren Bent has that on lock. Guy offered absolutely nothing outside of scoring and managed to get a freak season in 09/10 after he flopped at Sp**s.

Shout out to Lukaku banging in 25 goals for Everton as well, looks insane in hindsight considering how his PL career went after that.

The more I watch us the more I think even guys as frustrating as Jackson or Darwin could do well here.

Jackson is quality tbf. Got memed on a lot for good reasons for all his high-profile misses but his overall play has been very good since joining the league and people forget he was just 22 when he joined Chelsea with very little top flight experience. He's done remarkably well when you take a step back and look at his career tbh.

I wasn't entirely convinced by him early on but the stat nerds kept raving about him so I decided to take a closer look at him and he's just a very good player, would definitely take him over Kai in all honesty. Offers many of the same things but just to a higher level right now and his ceiling looks a lot higher to me.

Nunez isn't in the same league IMO. Mostly a pace merchant with horrendous overall play, masked by scoring a worldie every couple of months.

Agree with you on Jackson, I’m just very jaded when it comes to “all he needs to do is learn how to finish and he’ll be WC” type strikers.

But yeah I’d defo have him here over Kai tbh.

Elite. Cant always score important and winning goals or being main character in getting results against City.

So its important to score those jammy goals when the opportunities rises also.

he's not for me but at the minute he's the best of a dead bunch of fowards that we have so i guess we have to hope he improves on the ball striking at some point otherwise we will be in trouble again when it comes down to the fine margins.

The last sentence is more of a personal wish than reality 😅 It's like you said, finishing is something you have or you don't. You can improve it with small tweaks but you will never fully teach it to someone who can't finish.
