Kai Havertz: Kais and Lows

His all round game is superior to Gyokeres, that's clear to see. But his finishing is rubbish, I know he's been out for I while, but let's not forget the amount of sitters he's missed.

My biggest concern with Gyokeres is that his strength is his shooting and he barely gets his shots off. This is the most concerning thing, if we can get both players playing to their strengths it will be great for the balance of the squad.

I think it's fair to say Kai is always going to be criticised for his finishing and that's warranted.

But he's our best striker when fit. He'll be frustrating and he'll miss some sitters but he'll get the chances and he'll get 15-20 a season when fit.

We should look again for a striker in the summer but it's on Kai when he's fully regained his fitness for the rest of the season. Gyokeres and Jesus can contribute as secondary strikers.

If Saka starts getting back to his goalscoring form and Trossard/Martinelli keeps adding goals and assists we won't need 30 league goals from our striker.

Havertz does struggle infront of goal. That's not anything new, but we've missed his general play. The first thing he did yesterday was to pass to Madueke behind the RB and LCB. Only Merino is capable of playing those passes, but unlike Kai he can't really hold the ball up, and he's super slow. While Kai isn't perfect by any means, his movement, workrate, strength and passing ability is getting severely underrated.

I wanted Gyökeres as an alternative to Kai during the summer. I was hoping the swede would provide far more of a goal threat, but one of the reasons was that I thought he and Kai would be a very good striking duo for us to have. Kai would be the "all-rounder" and general starter, while Gyökeres would be the alternative who would get tight games over the line. They can also play together with Havertz as the false nine with Gyökeres as a pure striker.

I do still believe that Havertz is the best striker we have in general. If he was a clinical finisher on top of being a good all-rounder then he would be world class and one of the best strikers in the world. As we saw during the 23/24 season he was providing an G/A pretty much every game after he was playing as a striker. I still think we're yet to see the best of him. Still think he can go up another level or two. Same with Gyökeres of course. He's been pretty average, but he's been asked to do what Kai does without having the same skillset.

I don't know how we utilize Jesus, he is not the future of this team anyway
For the next few games play Gyokeres 60-70 mins, let Kai get the groove.
Once Kai gets his form, then decide again.
We need everyone to be in form to give the final push.

A post I never thought I would make but I miss this guy. Far far from perfect but we’re better with him imo

Hasn't he been injured for pretty much 2 seasons now? He's gonna be absolutely washed when he comes back, can't expect anything from him.
He looked good vs Portsmouth. Never know let’s see. Timber came back from an ACL and continued like nothing ever happened.

Hopefully Havertz can start contributing to us in February. But the setbacks are concerning to be fair.

Arsenal Quotes

The only moment of possible happiness is the present. The past gives regrets. And future uncertainties. Man quickly realised this and created religion. It forgives him what he has done wrong in the past and tells him not to worry about the future, as you will go to paradise.
