He looked gangly when he first joined but is more built and clearly more confident now. He now has the build to bully teams and he's also no slouch and his movement can hurt teams in multiple ways. We started to see signs of him running teams ragged before he got injured - you can use him as a target man, in behind like a classic 9 and overload the midfield as a false 9.

People should rewatch his MOTM performance against PSG at the Emirates. We'd have beaten them in the semis if he was fit. I really wouldn't be surprised if his best is still yet to come.

What has always let him down his is ball striking and composure. The cup games last season being the best example of this.

The rest of his game is pretty much the ideal profile for an Arteta CF: can run the channels, compete physically, drop deep, is a threat aerially. Lets see if he can stay fit...

Imagine this lad could actually strike the ball... He really would probably be in conversations for best forward in the world at that point tbh. Its his most glaring weakness.

MABA? What sort of nonsense is this? 😂😂 you’ve fell off icl.

One goal and people are doing all sorts of booty shaking. People aren’t happy if you praise a player and neither are they if you criticise. If I’m being honest, I haven’t really changed my stance here tbh even though I’m not a hater, I’ll be fair and give Kai his flowers for the goal yesterday.

@RunTheTrap @Trilly @Batman not sure who this brudda is referring to here.
Man didn't have the cojones to @ me. There I was minding my business, listening to some Bad Bunny while @Heavy Duty Rom launched a hate crime toward me for no reason. Smh, it’s impossible being a black man these days.

Firstly, I haven't always been pro-Black at Arsenal. I had a very one-sided animosity towards Lacazette and Pepe. The former got me in the doghouse because @OnlyOne (or someone else, I don't recall) called me out for supposedly creating racially-charged nicknames for Laca that white posters felt emboldened to join in on the bullying, which I apologised for. As for Pepe, @Trilly and I had beef because he defended him, while I was in the Saka camp and believed his time at the club was over. Also, I despised Gallas and routinely mock Madueke for his poor performances. Bro, I would rather have kept Nwaneri over him. Does that mean I'm a colourist? Nope. I just prefer ballers.

Secondly, I judge players on their importance to us. Not my fault if our most important players happen to be predominantly black. If Ødegaard didn't behave like a vegan, I’d champion him more.

Thirdly, I don't rate Havertz because his value on this team is overstated. Is he a good player? Yes, but I've seen people say ridiculous things about him which are not true. “Our most important player”, “the new RVP”, “top five strikers in the world” etc. Ya’ll never said this for Giroud, who is a similar level of talent. Anyways, if we win the league with him, so be it. Can't hate on a player who played a vital role in a major trophy. However, we've been top of the PL & CL tables without him, so he hasn't been that impactful for our success.

Oh and I HATED Thomas Partey. I disliked him so much that I stopped posting on his section because I'd get booted off this forum if I said what I really thought about The Yellow Box Man.

The Eternal Cynic
There’s room for nuance, there’s room for debate but every once in a while it’s okay to just disagree with someone who doesn’t think Isak is a better striker than Havertz. Same Isak who Mikel openly rates highly and told the board he wanted as his first choice striker signing? Regardless it’s your opinion, enjoy it, scream it from the rooftops, print it on a t-shirt and wear it on holiday my guy.

Funniest thing is the timing, I’m guessing in your reality something’s recently happened that has confirmed that Havertz > Isak and you’ve come to this thread to gloat about it.

I just can’t for the life of me understand what that event is? What metric are you using? First striker to come back from injury and score?
It’s more just the point I was making is that Havertz would probably fit in better as a striker for this team rather than Isak or even Gyokeres but you lot were acting like it was ridiculous to say.

If we did sign Isak I wonder if we'd have changed our style of play to accommodate him?

He's more an in behind striker than ball to feet (although he can do this), similar to Gyok. He's obviously better than Gyok and the players would trust him more, but honestly don't think its a stretch to say that if we play the way we currently do with Isak in the team, he would struggle to have the impact he did for Newcastle, and that Kai may be a better fit?

We never play the ball in behind and thats what guys like Isak thrive on.

It’s a moot hypothesis since Isak would be constantly injured una X 10

I think Mikel shocked all of us (well definitely me) when he didn’t tweak the system to suit Gyokeres effectively expecting him to become something he’s not. It hasn’t been pleasant to watch.

I highly doubt he would do the same for someone as proven as Isak but who knows man, Mikel is a mad man. I wouldn’t be surprised if he just thought he had a better chance at turning Isak into his ideal no9 rather than having any intentions of adapting to Isak’s game.

Auba's 9 stint under Mikel (mostly 20/21) may be an indicator here. This is a guy that scored us 20 goals and won us a season prior playing more of an in behind style, only to then be moved back to the center and be made to play more of a target man/back to goal role. They'd also just committed a huge amount of money to Auba.

Honestly don't think we will ever see an Arteta team here play low % through balls to the CF up top.

Damn, didn't expect a light hearted post to get so out of hand. But I get it, you guys have taken a bit of a beating as my football takes continue to be proven right

In all seriousness, @RunTheTrap @Trilly @2Smokeyy I apologise if I caused any offence, I'll be taking a step back now.

Nah nikka, keep scrapping - I say when we’re done. I'm not hurt and I doubt Trilly and Smokkey are. It's not that deep. It's just football chat. You didn't say anything crazy. Well, apart from your dumbass defence of Martin Fartedegaard.

Arsenal Quotes

Arsenal have got as much chance of being handed the title by Sp*rs as I have of being given the Crown Jewels. They are the last people we want winning the Championship. Now we mean to round off our season by beating Arsenal.

Alan Mullery (Sp*rs captain in 1971)

There is no way we were going to be beaten

Bertie Mee in the same game after beating Spurs and clinching the Double at White Hart Lane
