Glazing over the performance of a guy who single handedly lost us the title today.

Laughing stock.
It is crazy those two big chances; neither of them was worse than 50/50 even if you are being generous. The second chance was a perfect ball if he heads it down almost any where it is a goal. He missed both. Both chances you should be more likely to score than not if you play at this level. That us it one of those two go in and we are probably still in driver seat for title

Stop defending this prick, cost us at least three trophies in two years & I am not even counting the league this year yet. The striker situation is what baffles me, how do we keep on spending money on such flawed players over & over

Remember he was signed to replace Xhaka.

Arteta has spent now about 90m on intended replacements for Xhaka and an extra 105m now that Rice is the Xhaka replacement and we still haven't managed it.

I completely forgot Merino was another failed Xhaka replacement turned striker too 🤦

It’s infuriating that when the Kroenke’s finally decided to invest, they handed the chequebook to someone with such poor eye for talent.

This is singlehandedly the transfer that delayed the project by at least 3 years. Spent 65m and 300k p/w on him, only to spend another 300m just to rectify this failed transfer and still try to make him usable somewhere.

Nobody worth their salt on A-M thought this transfer made any sense and of course it still doesn't.

Most people on A-M was absolutely livid and confused when we pushed so hard for Madueke we ended up giving what Chelsea wanted immediately. Social media exploded and petition was created because we know this transfer will ruin the club, it was that obvious and now everyone is vindicated.

Morale of story, if the transfer doesn't make sense, it generally don't.

If the transfer is very obvious and everyone will be delighted if we signed them (Eze, Olise, Semenyo, Rice), it generally will be a success.

Football is a simple sport. Stop galaxy braining it.

People can try gas up the little take downs, flicks, pressing or whatever else he was doing but let’s be real, his balls shrank and eyes became fuzzy as per usual when Ødegaard played the ball to him, all the other stuff doesn’t really mean much when you don’t have that dawg in you to finish something which should be bread and butter for a striker playing for Arsenal.

Everything should always comes with context, when you’re on 300k a week and the fans have been hyping you up to be some RVP/Berba hybrid whilst he’s been out injured then obviously expectations will be aligned accordingly 😭😭 this scruff has been in the league for 6 seasons, yes 6. It’s funny though, RVP would have hit that in the roof of the net even from that horrible angle he made for himself. Everything about it was so passive, felt to me he didn’t even want to attack the ball and instead waited for the angle to be horrible then let it cross his body too much. That’s the second time in quick succession where he’s made a City GK look heroic.

tbf when Wenger was finally given some money, as well as brilliant signings like Alexis, he spunked almost £40m on Mustafi ;-)

The most arrogant of transfers. Some people at Arsenal thought that they were smartest people in football signing this guy. I won't forget the moment I heard we were signing him, the confusion, the faith put in management, but it's cost us trophies in my opinion and once again we will need a goal scoring forward in summer.

Lol, RVP would be a 200m signing these days. Why are you comparing him?

Kai’s game was very good yesterday. Missed chances happen, especially with Kai who isn’t the most clinical, but your boy Gyokeres wouldn’t even be getting the chances.

It sounded like that was the player people were painting out with the way he was hyped up on here during his stint out of action.

And on the “your boy” stuff etc I genuinely couldn’t a give a toss about the Twitter slop you’re replicating on the forum, all this hive BS makes no sense when they’re both clearly not good enough but at least I’m honest to admit that. I want Arsenal to succeed which is all that matters to be, so I won’t sugarcoat any of this.

Anyways, it was well known on here that he wasn’t even my first choice - it was Ekitike but I wouldn’t even want him here tbh as sure there would have been a slight improvement but he probably would have been shifted to the LW. Also, I did say last summer that Osimhen would suit Arteta the best if he was sticking to the same tactics:

You are right, Kai was getting overhyped while he was out, largely down to how bad Gyokeres is. Had Merino been around, it must have been less so.

Kai is good as a false 9 type striker, the problem is, we have nothing on the wings and no midfield runners, so the balance just isn’t there.

I’d have no issues going into next season with a fit Kai Havertz at 9. I’d have huge issues going in with the wingers we have and the Rice Zubimendi pairing.

False 9 is good if both wings are quality
Raphinha - Yamal with Pedri- De Jong - Lopez
Mane - Salah with Thiago - Henderson - Fabinho
Kvara/Barcola - Doue with Zarre-Emery - Vitinha - Neves

us we have only Saka 50% fit...

That's why missing Saka was really unfortunate.
Noni was bad, Martinelli was bad, Eze's shot that hit the post was in the middle as he did not do much as a LW.
I think Ode was very decent yesterday but far from his best.
Kai could raise the team game, but he was never clinical (WE ALL KNOW).
Arteta needs to re-think of the setup.

Osimhen would have won us the league provided he was fit. Issue is he's a massive fiery knob who is demanding so Arteta wouldn't touch him with a bargepole.
