I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. You can win a lot of **** with a fit Kai Havertz as your starting striker. A lot of ****
I would like to keep Havertz but to be honest 350k is a f*ckload.
Heard that it is just a year extension and no pay raise. We may be worried for something not true (beyond 300k).It's around £300k though at the moment, no? Unless you're referring to the on-going negotiations (if so then apologies). But yeah I do agree with the sentiment.
I think both Gyokeres and Havertz have their merits and I actually appreciate both players, genuinely. I say that as someone that took a long time to give Havertz his flowers, but in terms of the modern archetype of attacker he's good.
If I have to be really honest, after weighing it all up, I think if I had to keep one of the two it'd be Havertz, and then we should go out and sign young striker with potential that can deputise and eventually step up.
The sticking points are his injury record (which worries me ALOT) and his wages which I believe we're currently negotiating.
The lesser issue is his wages tbh, at least at the moment. I don't sense it's causing disharmony and as PL winners I think players like Rice will be getting a bump anyway. However with the contract negotiations, where exactly will this go? I do not think we should bump him beyond £300k if I'm being honest.
Returning to the injuries, they are an issue, a big issue. If he's going to miss half the season this isn't going to work, I don't think that's controversial to say. So we'll need to assess properly whether he'll be able to bounce back and stay fit for a whole season.
Haven’t double checked these but that’s pretty poor for the outlay we have on him. His overall numbers are poor.Hes only played at least 25 league games in 1 out of the 3 seasons hes been here. 23 last season and 12 this season. I think we should probably bring in a really talented young striker that we think can play meaningful minutes with Havertz and Gyokeres as competition
He can get gone tbh.
£70M and £275k p/w.
Decent signing but if you’re serious you sell him.
Give him the no.9 next season.
Excellent goal but his hold up play was so, so bad. Shockingly so as it’s meant to be one of his strengths yet he seemed to lose every single aerial.
I think Raya’s distribution being quite poor didn’t help him but our entire game plan kind of failed due to Kai’s inability to win the long ball.
I’m surprised that nobody else has really mentioned this, maybe because of how good the goal was but I think we’d have been better off as a team for the 90 mins if we swapped that goal for his usual level of target man ability.
A lot of substitute players got playlyer of the match and only played a small amount of minutes but score the game winning goal, especially if it is a low scoring game.This. Great goal but after that I didnt think he had a great game. If we won, would he have recieved player of the match? Dont think he would have deserved it for his overall game.
Havertz /Gyok at Striker have seemed to have split AM close to down the middle. Ideally i would like to see an improvement on both of them.
But we must bow down to his mystical all round game, even though we won the league with Gyok leading the line after having to sign him because Kai wasn’t reliable.
