Even though I agree with you, the situation developed relatively quickly, and the angle was narrow. Of course, that doesn't mean a top scorer couldn't have succeeded.

The annoying part is he didn’t even properly go for the near post (ala Martinelli against Chelsea), he just hit it straight at his body. If he hit it low it could've gone through the legs at least, that shot had no chance of going in

That's the problem with Kai's finishing. It's neither placed or smashed with power, just kinda hit in the direction of the goal.

Should've taken the shot a split second before, by the time he does the keeper is always favourite.

Tight angle for a left footer to be fair and a right footer wouldn't have time to shift it to their stronger foot so it's a harder chance than it looked. A legit marksman does score that though.

The attack is really lacking somebody who's good at first time shots/crosses/etc. None of them really do it.

He's not a natural finisher which is a problem for the position he plays. He can still improve his finishing but even a bum like Walcott probably finishes that from either side. He just lacks conviction in his ball striking and you shouldn't need to be taught that.
