There’s nothing sensible about buying Chelsea trash. The day we buy someone they want to keep is the day I will view this as healthy relationship. Right now we are their dumping ground.
I'd be worried if we were buying him to start. We're literally spending 5m for a keeper to play in the league cup. It's a fairly sensible, low risk approach. Brentford spent 18m on Liverpool reserve keeper Caoimhin Kelleher. I'm Irish and don't rate him. So if we can pick up someone of his experience, who played 30 plus games last season and was decent and is happy to be a number two then go do it.

Save the cash for areas we really need to strengthen.

In the multi million pound transfer market 5m is nothing to a Premier League team. A reasonably sensible transfer that gives us an experienced player and addresses a position that you hope you never need to use for a minimal fee. It's a no brainer if it's at that price point.
Don’t understand people being upset about this, it’s an excellent deal.
Worst case scenario - he turns out to be **** and we can sell him next summer for more than the £5m we’re paying. Best case scenario he’s excellent and we have two top class keepers with the possibility of cashing in on one for a nice fee.
Or he does neither and is bang average then he’s a back up keeper who cost £5m.

I guarantee you there isn’t one poster on this forum who defends “every single decision” made by Arteta. Just negative, boring b0llocks again from you.
It's actually quite the opposite. There are many here who just criticize literally everything arteta does. Even if he breathes they'll find something wrong and also borderline call him xenophobic. It's pathetic.

I don’t think so. The Arteta circle jerk is one thing. But people here backing “every decision” he makes is a stretch. Even people here with the biggest hard on for him will admit at the very least he has a weird penchant fetish for defence and neglects his attack.

We know what posters here we’re talking about btw. Even those posters admit if he wins nothing next season, he has to go.

@Rasmi you need to refresh your profile avi btw.

Imagine a back four with him, Mustafi, Zinchenko and Ramsdale.

Unreal levels of pashun merchantry and of the famous " hands on hips, I can't believe you guys let thst goal go in pretending they weren't a fault for it."
Lee Dixon on Mustafi: “I spoke to Gary Neville who said Valencia couldn't give him away. Then Arsenal came along and paid £30m for him.”

That one cut deep. Still does.

Probably what Chelsea keep talking themselves.

Guess somethings never change, leopard and stripes, eh?

Off topic, and I’m sorry, but Benayoun wasn’t actually that bad for example. I thought Willian could be similar but he was trash here but then balled at Fulham typically. Anyway, whilst I’m scarred by Chelsea rejects, there’s little downside to this. Also, I remember an article Joe Cole said about Kepa. He said his passing was better than most of their midfielders. He has high profile clangers, but a great season for Bournemouth and it’s £5m FFS.

I'm getting cringe-pains watching this back. How excruciating. I can't remember what happened next, though. Did Kepa save any penalties? Was Sari sacked after acting so spinelessly? What was Kepa's punishment? So many questions 🍿

This is wat Sarri will be known for his time in England. Lost all respect as a manager in an instant. Kepa went on to perform poorly in the shootout and Chelsea lost.

Kepa's punishment? Some token fine and being benched for one game. No Sarri wasn't sacked straight away. Wish he was as he beat us that season in the Europa League final.

Strangely about 2 or 3 years later something similar happened. This time Kepa was on the bench and Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel subbed him in just for the penalty shootout. Everyone scored their penalties....except Kepa. He blasted his wildly over the bar lol. Ouch.

Arsenal Quotes

Right from his very first match, when Patrick Vieira was as yet unknown to the English public, he showed just how talented he was. No one disputed his ability, and he gave me the credibility and the hold over the club that I needed to take it in the direction I wanted. He and Emmanuel Petit became a duo that would remain forever etched in the memories of Arsenal fans.
