We just need to pay more upfront. It's part of negotiating. The deal will be signed. Now the Zaha deal is one that may be a waste of time. Only time will tell on that one but this one is looking way more positive.
I think part of the no rush tactics is the fact that he's injured... he doesnt miss pre season or something... so we might as well save a few millions towards other targets... 5M to be payed next year is more than 10% of our entire budget this year... no matter how sad it sounds thats the reality....

For 20-25 M we can get several more than decent alternative to Tierney. For example Theo Hernandez went to Milan for about 20 M. Time for Edu to prove his worth. Bid on another 1-2 player, then Celtic might lower their demands if they needed money from Tierney sale. If not we buy the alternate.

Totally agree some valve out there in Europe in the 10-15mill bracket... A lot of ltalian clubs who are quite good at the art of defending looking for cash.. And below atheltico, barca, and real Madrid the Spanish league is full of technically gifted youngsters... Drifting into the balkans they seem cheaper but there leagues are not so strong, week in week out as Germany, italy, Spain... We are a huge draw champions league or not...

I'm bored with this, 25m is the absolute limit, if not already too much for a LB in the SPL with injury issues.

I love him as a player and his character is exactly what you want, but f*ck it just go buy a cheap young prospect for 5m if Celtic carry on being pr*cks about it. Up the Gers.

Hold on a second. Move on from our main target at left back because we wont pay 25m. In relative terms its hardly a massive fee. Less than half our record transfer and 9m more than we paid for an inexperienced Chambers.

Some people are unhappy because we cant bully Celtic. Just because we cant bully them doesnt mean we give up. The goal posts arent changing. The only way we should back away from this if Celtic say they want 50m. Anything under 30m and its still a fantastic deal and brings a long term solution to a short term problem. No reason Tierney cannot be our left back for the next decade and beyond.

How many players have we lost out on over the years because we wouldnt stretch ourselves? This will be a regret if we dont do it.

We don't need any money, we're as financially stable as we ever have been, our fans would rather you moved on to other targets and are becoming increasingly frustrated/irritated that you're still in for him and won't seem to drop your interest.
Reaching the CL Group Stage is worth £40M to us, far, far more than you're willing to pay for Tierney, so why should we sell a player before our CL Qualifiers are over and therefore in the process weakening our LB position for those games?

This transfer window has been slow in general, across the board for the PL. The player is injured and won't be fully fit until September at the earliest. Rumours via. decent sources a day or so back stated the player is keen on Arsenal. That's what matters most.

It's obviously a fantastic deal if you support celtic which your profile image shows.... The guys had injury troubles the past 18 months... 18mil is a good offer if he was that good why are we the only team interested teams should be clambering over each other for him at his age and being so cheap.... The reason is 25mil sounds too steep so most clubs are looking for valve on guys that can play from the start of the season not have to nurse back to health... 18 sounds fair..

Then we should say bye to you, if Edu is any good.

So he will miss at least 1-2 months of EPL, amazes me why cant Arsenal just target healthy and ready players. Just say bye to Celtic and Tierney.

Never saw you qualify for group stage last year what makes you think this year will be different... Anyway it's a long transfer season so if he chooses London fair enough because we have shown a constant interest in the boy... But what you want and what you get works both ways... So only time would tell if he was a bargain or a crock...

Its not like Tierney is the only good youngish LB at 20-25 M, and he is also injured, therefore we really should have other options, its almost criminal if we blindly chase Tierney only.

Again. Celtic are being more than fair here with the prizing of the player. They are practically giving us their player in current market.
It doesnt mean Tierney the best deal we can get though, considering other good youngish LB out there, his current injury and Celtic tough play which eats time.
