He does not have a great record of end product (he's 22, wouldn't expect it!), but he offers a need. 1v1 players aren't always the most productive, but they offset that by taking players out of the game with their dribbles.

If we're looking for end product, we may have to sacrifice the 1v1 element. I think having the dribbling element is more of a need, but we need to be smart in terms of their potential for end product. Would have to do some recon on Coman to check his xG and other predictive stats.

When you look at his production from the standpoint of starts it's pretty dang good actually. In 17 starts he produced 9 goals and 4 assists.

Sterling (Most comparable epl player?)
42 starts 20 goals, 14 assists
/17 starts = 8 goals, 5.7 assists

For a 22YO winger that production is nothing to scoff at, and he unsettles a defense in a way that we don't really have right now.

Lads, he's not coming. Bayern are absolutely planning with him, and after a dodgy start to his time in Munich, just before he got injured he had finally settled in and taken his game up a notch while becoming a nailed on starter. The last few weeks before his injury he was going through the roof. They will never let him go now that he's finally gotten on a trajectory to fulfill his talent with Ribéry and Robben in the very last stages of their careers.

Coman, Gnabry and Rebic, who's seemingly about to join them with his agent reportedly in Munich, will be their future wingers.

At the same point, we have so much attacking talent in the team that we could probably use one slot to develop a young player. Someone like Nelson has a major opportunity to nail down that right hand side.

Emery might be able to get him to time his runs a little better. He's 2 for 2 so far in pre-season games aswell as far as we know (as is Jeff). Nelson has a real opportunity on his hands IMO.

Regarding Coman and developing young players this season, I think a lot depends on Nketiah's role in the squad, and if we sell Lucas and/or Welbeck.

I hope Emery finds a way to play PEA and Laca together, but we also need to have a reliable formation with one of them on the bench. If we're playing with 2 CF then we potentially need 2 backups. If we're only playing with one CF, then PEA and Laca can rotate and we're fine unless one of them gets injured. In this system, Nketiah could be a good enough 3rd striker and this would be great for his development.

Also, with Welbeck and/or Lucas gone we could focus on getting a winger, and still provide Nelson and/or Jeff quality game time this season.

Between our four competitions, and Emery's commitment to developing players I can see him rotating the squad a lot this season. Nelson, Jeff and Smith Rowe have all looked good this season, but Coman right now is a better player. However, I think all four of them could get quality minutes this season.

What, wilfriend zaha rather than Coman? Coman is a case of > If he improves maybe 10% in all his areas he's could be really great. Hard to grow that much tho.

Anyways, don't see Zaha being better than coman in any area.

Zaha isn't necessarily better than Conan, but he's proven in this league, maybe (questionable) a bit more hungry as he hasn't had top club success yet and will take no time to adapt. Coman is a good footballer with a high ceiling, don't see him as potentially special like Dembele, Dyballa or Assenio though, so would rather spend the money on Zaha.

Isn't this a myth? The only advantage he has is that he has played against people and know them a bit, which goes both ways, so basically a double-edge sword. He has to fit into our system just as Coman would
