Mitoma is not a starting LW for a team who wins the league and maybe CL. I like him but it’s a waste of time signing him imo.
We were 2 points off of winning the league against 130 last season with Martinelli at LW. Liverpool may well win the league with Luis Diaz at LW. Mitoma is better than Martinelli and not far off of Diaz at all.

Maybe my memory is poor. Surely Laca at his worse never reached Jesus level of bad?
He didn't. He didn't have the mobility to do the job that Arteta wants from the 9 where you are both a midfielder and striker but when he was in a position to finish, he didn't just stop running like Jesus or totally fluff his lines all the time. He's twice the finisher Jesus has ever been.

Yeah. At Lyon they seem to have found a way to put runners around him and let him focus on finishing. 51 in 77 league goals is impressive. Jesus will be gone in the summer. Sadly it will cost us not to bring in an attacker in Jan. He’s beyond finished

Yeah I didn't comment on it in his thread but that Jesus opportunity was alarming. Even for him in his current form, that was terrible. That tells me he doesn't really want it anymore. That fire Arteta was talking about was all BS.

There’s better options out there though. Mitoma doesn’t bag 10+ in the PL.

He’d be elite depth for us but that’s about it IMO. Would be our best LW don’t get me wrong, but more of a floor raiser. I’m tired of that in the attack.

Yeah I get what you're saying. I would prefer a bigger player in that position too. I'm just thinking about the fact that if we'd gotten anything from that position last season we'd have a title.

Semenyo looks like a better option than Mitoma tbh. Arsenal fan too apparently. Wonder if we could get him in jan
Yeah I like him. I'm in the similar boat to @Red London where I would prefer a star there like a Rodrygo or Kvara but Semenyo certainly has attributes that would help us as well as an affinity for the club.

Yeah. I don’t get how we can’t just buy him in January. Bournemouth are tiny. There are league 1 clubs bigger than them

The TV revenue is a factor though. Unlike the other leagues, every PL club is pretty much guaranteed 100 million as a starting point. It's one of the few things that really works well in the PL. Even little PL clubs like Bournemouth don't have to just capitulate to a big club taking their player for nothing like the German clubs do for Bayern for example. It might not do anything to affect top end parity but it's why the smaller PL clubs are more dangerous than their counterparts in other leagues on any given day.

I was surprised about how two footed he is, as well as his ability to play on the right, huge bonus

For me Semenyo ranks higher than Mitoma. But yeah certainly not a game changer signing (at least in the short term).

Semenyo as a 24 year old has a level to go up, and time to reach it.

I think some people would be surprised to learn Mitoma is 27 (because he has a baby face lol). He’d be 28 by the time we sign him.

I want the finished article if I’m signing a 28 year old for £50-60m+ from brighton.

I want Kvara/Rodrygo/Williams level players then the next layer is Semenyo/Gittens.

The idea rodrygo would do better in the PL than semenyo is laughable. Guy is another fairweather Brazilian attacker. Had enough of that with jesus

Arsenal Quotes

When I arrived, an Arsenal share was worth £800; it subsequently rose continuously in value and by the time I left it stood at £17,000.
