For me Semenyo ranks higher than Mitoma. But yeah certainly not a game changer signing (at least in the short term).

Semenyo as a 24 year old has a level to go up, and time to reach it.

I think some people would be surprised to learn Mitoma is 27 (because he has a baby face lol). He’d be 28 by the time we sign him.

I want the finished article if I’m signing a 28 year old for £50-60m+ from brighton.

I want Kvara/Rodrygo/Williams level players then the next layer is Semenyo/Gittens.
We can get both top level at LW in the summer and Semenyo in the winter. We can sell Martinelli and Trossard.

Do you even trust Micky with the cheque book? Next summer is make or break for me.
Same for me.

But it’s a 2 step process. First he needs to even be willing to spend money on the attack.

We need an overhaul there (get rid of 1 or 2) and sign a starting LW and CF as those positions are letting the team down.

Then his actual spending needs to be on the right players.

If he doesn’t see the need to heavily invest in the attack and we have a frustrating start to the season I’m gonna be checking out and believing he’s not the man.

The only attackers Mikel has signed is Jesus and Trossard which is pretty mad considering.

Linked to guys like reliably linked to Raphina and Vlahovic but Edu failed. I think Mikel will be able to identify a good attacker.

Let’s see. I wanna see him do it, he needs to.

I’m genuinely so tired of players like Martinelli, Jesus and recently Havertz and Trossard. The only truly starting quality attacker we have right now is Saka.

You look at game changers at our rivals; Salah at Liverpool, Palmer at Chelsea, Haaland at City.

Saka is doing it but it’s not his main attribute, to score goals out of absolutely nothing.

We need a magical player in the attack, or 2 more players who can reliably score goals.

Saka in a world class team would be that all round beast who scores, assists, adds in all phases of play but isn’t necessarily prolific. However we rely on him as our Salah, like he’s meant to bag us 20+ in the league.

Like I said in the summer, Lookman was an obvious move after Nico wanted Barca. We carried on chasing a lost cause when Lookman was there. We’d be a lot better off right now had we got him. Probably too late to move for him in Jan now.

I’m happy with Lookman as an option if we cant get the best possible LWs next summer.

He’s showcasing a lot of IQ, nous, and ball striking ability. These are things which I am surprised about him. I liked him at Fulham but he had lots of gaps and consistency issues. He’s come leaps and bounds.

His style of play now is scalable. He will be able to add value to better teams in better leagues imo.

But I still don’t think he’s a game changer, more of a very strong addition.

Doubt Lookman wants to return to the Premier League after struggling there for such a long time.

He’s in a good place right now I don’t think he wants to return that quickly.

We ****ed up by not getting Neto - too many people couldn't see past the injuries. Of course he's thriving at Chelsea bcz he doesn't have to play every minute and get rushed back early like he was at Wolves given he was their star player.

I’m not sure about that tbh. We’re currently facing so many injuries to players even in areas where we have a lot of depth.

If Neto worked out here he is starting most games, I don’t want to put my trust in an injury prone player.

It’s also too early to judge.

There’s better LW options out there imo.

Go big on Kvaradona, make Napoli an offer they can't refuse in the summer. No point in signing journeymen, get a real game changer in. It doesn't solve the lack of support for Havertz up top, but we could raise funds by selling some of the deadweight.

No point talking about wingers and forwards for January, we're in a crisis at the back.

I think we'll need a LB in the summer anyway so I'd look at buying one in Jan if we still have injuries.

Maybe Ait-Norui, contract expires in 2026 so probably a cheapish deal to be done and has good injury record.

Yeah our back is the problem. The team can beat anyone if our first 11 is ready. Ait-Norui or Hato in January for me

Think Cala ends the Hato transfer, I'm sure Ornstein said as much.

I don't even rate Ait-Nouri and he's the wrong profile but we've ****ed it signing so many injury prone players he at least can stay fit.

Tierney, Zinny & Tomi have to be cleared out in Jan or summer.

But we never know, Kiwior can leave if we receive a good offer. If Tomi continue injuries, Hato is not bad decision. At least he can play at LB too, I dont trust Kiwior.

Nah, we did the right thing. Too many injury prone players on the team already.
