It’s not just Barca, to be fair. If I remember there was some noise about Ancelotti in danger of being fired last season, e.g. Why Ancelotti is in danger of being sacked by Real Madrid.

During his first stint at Real, he was fired a year after winning some major trophies, and having an empty cabinet the next even though they came close on many fronts(Real Madrid sack Ancelotti after two seasons).
