Mourinho in the PL:

9 (10 taking into account the current one, that doesn't look too good) seasons, 3 league titles, 1 FA Cup, 4 League Cups, 1 Europa League, 2 Community Shields, 2 finishes outside the top-4 during seasons he has been involved in.

Wenger in the PL:

22 seasons, 3 league titles, 7 FA Cups, 0 League Cups, 7 Community Shields, 0 Europa Leagues but one CL final, 2 finishes outside the top-4 during seasons he has been involved in.

I mean, sure Mourinho has been more successful per season, but considering he's had superior squads what he's been doing isn't impressive even if it is projected to 22 years, let alone if he was 22 years consecutively at the same club which always leads to some stagnation. He also belongs in a newer generation and his management should now be going into it's over-the-hill phase. Granted not all managers experience that, but with Mourinho it sure looks like it's happening.

Both pioneers and greats that revolutionized the game, with Mourinho having incredible success with continental clubs, but as a PL great I'd have Wenger comfortably ahead of him as of now. Mourinho wasn't even here during most of the golden years of the PL to compete against what might be the best English side of all time.

So how many should he be allowed to buy by the management? Is it their fault that Bailly and Lindelof have been the wrong choices?

It's not a question of how many, it's a question of the top quality CB's coming in. Liverpool paid 75 million for one and the improvement in their defence is there for all to say. That's the calibre you have to bring in.

City and Liverpool have both gone above United because United have been caught sleeping over the summer, all they did was bring in a substitute midfielder. That's it. Even Chelsea and to a lesser extent ourselves made serious moves in the transfer market. You can't continuously look at what you did in 2016 and 2017 you have to make progress in the market every year to compete at the highest level.

No doubt United have still be underperforming but still they've not done nearly enough.

Alexis Sanchez hopes Paris Saint-Germain will offer him a way out of Manchester United in January but fears his lofty wages will cost him the chance of a move, the Daily Mail reports.

Believe it or not, there are people in the world who take less money to work at places where they are more happy in the job. If Alexis can't choose happiness over money, I have no sympathy for him. It's not like he's choosing between working at minimum wage or a middle class wage. He'll still be making hundreds of thousands of pounds a week. He's already made enough money to secure the future of his entire family for generations, especially in a country like Chile. I don't begrudge anyone negotiating for the best financial deal they can get, but money can't buy happiness. If he's so miserable, maybe he should reconsider his priorities.

Lied about his height in his CV.

Is he a Carrick or a Kleberson, or too early to tell? Before the season started I really thought that Matic-Fred-Pogba would be the £180m midfield to finally get you ticking, I thought he’d be the missing piece, but so far it just looks like another purchase that doesn’t fit into any coherent plan.

Martial and Shaw both playing well recently. Mourinho's tough love paying off in those two instances. Pogba was pretty good apart from the role he played in Everton's penalty. While Lindelof has been one of United's standouts over the last few weeks. Slowly but surely you get a feeling that they might be turning a corner.

It's hard to expect consistency in this team, we've conceded every game this season and that's with De Gea in net, between Rashford and Lukaku they've scored 1 goal in the last 9 games. Martial has been dragging us up.

There's a huge issue upfront and there's an issue in defence and we won't make any progress until these issues are resolved. Not sure if it's quality or coaching. Maybe both.

Big result for them today. They're only 3 points behind us in the league despite being in a "crisis". Top 4 will be tight.
