Definitely the opposite of the culture they had when they were winning trophies under Ferguson. Back then they had some quite pedestrian players in terms of pure talent, but they were a team and had such a culture of success and excellence instilled.

They are still buying very talented players but the culture is just broken, whoever the players are or who the manager is. Seems to be little respect for the club itself. Just a place to pick up a big pay check.

I have to say that is probably what I see as one of Arteta’s main success at Arsenal; the Utd culture is definitely not present at Arsenal anymore.

How long has Martial been at Utd and underperforming? Obviously getting a big pay cheque and has shown little interest in working under multiple managers now. He is the type of player Arteta would have paid off his contract to get him out of the joint. Utd probably not in the same situation to do what we did. Too poor and too comfortable for too long.

United board should give Ten Hag more time and back him in the January transfer window..thats the only way I see them improving.

Their arrogance is pretty funny on their forum.

They castigate other teams fans for booing their players etc when each of their players threads are so reactionary it’s unbelievable.

Harry Maguire is now flavour of the month there. Watch when he makes a mistake now…they will be sending him death threats on instagram. Strange fanbase.

The players have given up on the manager I think.

I dont rate Ten Hag as highly as you know, but I think you need to have the dressing room to have a proper impact. We saw this with Emery at Arsenal as well.

Same thing will happen to Arteta if he loses the dressing room.

Well, obviously: if kids don't respect their parents or a teacher you know what happens. The same would go for any manager, even Pep- hence why he got rid of Cancelo

Wenger inherited arguably the best drilled defense in world football. What did Arteta inherit that was worth salvaging? At the time I was mad at how he handled Özil and Pepe, but they both showed they weren't up to scratch at their new clubs.
If Arteta inherited Tony the second Tony’s drinking problems impacted the team he would of shipped him. Arteta would of tossed Wright aside as well. Runor is he won’t play ESR because ESR smoked pot. What would he do if Tony had his problems under Chairmen Mai Ze Mik?

If the players Mik inherited were do bad why did he win his sole trophy with them? He got an world class striker and goal keeper and to s of quality youngsters many of whom like Willock and Guendouzi he squandered. Arteta would literally dismantle Grahams team for a team of Mik’s pets

The clubs just rotten.

Having poor or overrated players is one thing but there's absolutely no excuse for the lack of fight / effort some of those players put in yesterday, it's been happening for years too.

Rashford on his day is a fantastic player but he should be embarrassed with himself with how little effort put in yesterday. It was shocking tbh and he's meant to be a talisman / leader of the club.

Rashford isn't lazy like that for England either so he's got no excuse doing it for his club.

If Newcastle had won 4-0 It wouldn't have flattered them.
He doesn't need to track back for England when 90% of the games played in qualifiers are against 3rd world countries. I don't know how you can call someone who's had multiple seasons where he went on a 15+ games goal drought fantastic?

“On his day”, if I got a penny every time I heard this said about a United player, I'd have enough money to buy one Harry Maguire. At this point, that appears to be in the small print whenever they purchase a player. Pogba, Rashford, Martial, Shaw, Antony, Sancho, Antony (well it's never his day), Varane and I could name several players in the last decade that this sentiment applies to.

I think ETH is awful, was one of the first on here to call him out as an average manager, however I do feel for him. When you have to deal with players like Sancho, Rashford, Martial etc as big presences in your dressing room, you’re already set up for failure. You’ll never be at the top level of competition in this sport with players with attitudes like that.

He needed unequivocal club backing to completely abolish them, whether they can sell them or not. It’s one of the biggest reasons Arteta is doing well here, because the club backed him with the big decisions against the big players, despite everyone questioning him at the time, he made the right choices and the club ignored the noise and focused on sticking to a long term plan.

Then again, ETH is the one who’s added to that by signing awful players who have bad attitudes also or came to United just to collect a pension.

They’re a mess and I think they’ll continue to be for a very, very long time now.

Arsenal fans were no different when we were in our banter era. It seems he is the flavour of the month because half the players don't appear to be trying too hard. Macguire always puts in the effort, but you are right, once he makes a mistake....

Surely its not good sign for ETH as the manager would expect that at minimum. Seems there are players not following the manager.

Goldbridge said people are saying the players are not playing for the manager anymore but the truth is they're not playing for the FANS. People travel across the country or even abroad to see their team- even getting up at all hours to catch a flight or whatever. The players are disrespecting those people, not the manager- who isn't a fan of the club...he's just being paid to do a job.

(As an aside this makes me feel lucky to have Mikel because he actually is an Arsenal fan 😆)

United fans took success for granted. Almost like entitlement while other fans went lengthy spells of being **** including us.

To think what the Geordie fans went through when NUFC got relegated and Sunderland made fun of them. City and Chelsea decades of being absolutely ****e while their rivals won for fun. Everton till today. Sp**s every season for over 60 years.

United was fortunate having their success period at just right time of new powerful league launch, EPL. That’s gone. The entitlement, the biggest club in the world myth, must go. Be humble and patient to get through this difficult period.

The mess they have made in the last 10 including ETH set them back even further. ETH HAS a lot to fix. Some he even created with the poor and expensive purchases.

There’s not one position you would think they have fixed let alone having core 4-6 players to rely. He must create and build upon a core number of players who would die for him.

Arsenal Quotes

You kind of never leave Arsenal. How many comebacks do you make? At one point it will turn out to be a bad move. We all love the first Rocky but I'm not too sure about the last one.
