He’s never even played u21 and you’re expecting him to ball out in the prem 😭

We do know. We definitely know. He ain’t ready to be backup striker at a prem club. If that’s genuinely what was offered then that is absolutely wild.

I actually rate Van Nistlerooy and think he’ll coach him well but he’s not ready for this level.
Don’t think anyone’s expecting him to ball out in the Prem. But if he’s considered 3rd choice he’ll get to train with the first team and perhaps play in U21. He’s got the frame for it although perhaps not the strength. Coached by such an accomplished striker as van Nistelrooy as well and Ten Hag showed with Mainoo that he’ll give youth a chance, which is something we haven’t quite seen with Arteta.

We don’t know what we offered in terms of development, but if this is correct then it’s hard to think we could beat that.

And as @Rasmi said, it’s not like other young players haven’t come in and held their own at 16, so if he develops well who knows.

With both money and all of the above, it looks like he’s made the right decision for his career.

We’ll see. I just think CF is a position where you really need to develop both mentally and physically before you can make a mark more so than other positions. You will be jostling against absolute units in opposition centre backs. The only real example I can think of here is Rooney and he was a generational freak.

A lot is made of Chido’s size but if you watched him you wouldn’t say he was overly strong or even that quick. He still has a lot of physical development left in him as he didn’t use his frame much, his game was based on really intelligent movement and precise delicate finishing. Funnily enough this is also why I was gutted to see him go, as when he does grow into his body I think he will be incredible.

RvN will definitely be an excellent coach for him though no arguments there.

Man United injuries are a real concern and they can't just be down to "bad luck" - Yoro is there for 5 minutes and is already out for 3 months? Sheesh.

Big questions need to be asked about EtH training methods.

With Yoro it's a case of undertraining. He was brought in way too fast to play games.

But a metatarsal injury is freakish awful luck, it doesn't matter how fit or unfit you are.

I was actually really surprised to see him start that game.

In fairness, he played 45 minutes a week before and looked very good.

A metatarsal injury has nothing to do with fitness and is just freakish bad luck. However, there were a lot of poor factors that should have been looked into. Such as the state of the pitch and being undertrained which I didn't like about the situation.

What’s your / general Utd fanbase realistic expectation for prem this season btw? Top 4? Top 6?

In isolation yeah, but these injuries keep happening to you guys and it can't just be all down to awful luck.

I don't know, when a team relies on having a spine of players like Varane, Shaw, Martial, Eriksen and Mount. I don't think they have a right to be so surprised that they follow their career track record of being injury-prone, season after season.

But happening to a kid in pre-season and getting a metatarsal injury is very different. Albeit the same did happen to Mainoo last pre-season where he was out for 4/5 months after a pre-season injury to Arsenal. Guess what I'm trying to say is, I feel I can see the difference between cases of players who tend to frequently get injured and those freak injury incidents. Last season we happened to have both.

Damn not great start from utd yoro gonna be out until December Hojlund likely tow months until he gets ready again Rashford injured too. Likely ten hag trying to push them hard in training
Yoro barely trained with United and broke his foot less than a week after joining on a dodgy temporary American pitch. Had nothing to do with ETH or medical staff.

de Light, Eriksen, Mazaroui, Martinez, Antony and Onana all being ex-Ajax players gets weirder and weirder. If you sprinkle in Zirkzee, Amrabat and Malacia they'll be looking like a Hagelslag colony.

This man injures his entire squad and still ends up walking with more silverware than Arteta, he's impressive.

His project of asserting Ajax superiority in the PL is funny but still more interesting than our project about doing our best to emulate the club with 115 charges.

What makes this absolutely bat **** crazy is this is only Ten Haag’s 2nd ‘big’ club he’s managed. Realistically only 1 club he could have signed most of the % of that from.

Compare that to Pep Ancelotti Mourinho Emery etc. And ETH is in his own league at the top, it’s wild.
