to be fair utd need to hold their breath Liverpool hit the post 3 times yesterday and missed two sitters another day this could end 4-2 to liverpool.

Amorim ego will grow after this and will stick playing this poverty midfield manutd only need to fix their midfield and i can see them getting better but keep playing Bruno-Casemiro or Ugarte they going nowhere imo.

On the flip side, different game if Bruno buries the chance that hits the post and makes it 2-0. We have a good attack and having a keeper that isn't Onana or Bayindir makes these types of games winnable for us in moments, which wasn't possible before. There is a long way to go in terms of improving our midfield, that's for sure but there is also enough quality that is getting overlooked in Cunha, Mount, Amad, Bruno and Mbeumo, these guys play football the right way, energy, pressing and great technique.

Think a Baleba, Anderson or Wharton would transform us.

Imo what transform you is change of formation and two good midfielders that's about it got good starting attack and decent defence that could be upgraded in few years

They quickly forgot about Grimsby and all the other memorable games..

They seem to ignore that fact that they only had the ball against us because we allowed them to, not because they outplayed us. We were never in danger of conceding a goal against United.

We were? I think they hit the post, Raya had a close save from Mbuemo's header, and I think Cunha also had a good chance. They were actually quite good against us while our midfield was still clicking.

The United game wasn't 'United playing well', it was Arsenal having probably the worst/most disjointed performance from the squad since 2022. 1st game of the season and we just didn't look right or settled and we weren't doing the things we normally do to control games so effectively. Incredible amount of turnovers and sloppy passes. And they did nothing really with it, and we still won.

The same can be said about every game they have won this season.

Good win for them but if they think they are back after liverpool hit the post 3 times and missed another 3 absolute sitters I think they might be in for another rude awakening. And it will be fun to watch as usual.

Imagine set pieces were outlawed

Rice FK skills on display again. Brilliant cross

Arsenal and their typical dead ball situation goal, they really have that in the bag

That delivery from Rice was freaking on point though. They score a bucket lot of goals from set pieces cause their delivery is always on the money.

How come when stoke used to do this every commentator and pundit moaned about how anti football it was but when arsenal do it they're somehow genius'.

That carry from MLS was insane.

What a run from Skelly

Lewis Skelly is a Moussa Dembele regen. I just clapped for a Gooners goal  brilliant football.

Arsenal are a quality side they're putting Atleti to the sword here

Arsenal's depth will carry them far.

Gyökeres with the stat padding when the game is dusted.

Could be the best team in Europe atm. Them or PSG

Arsenal are really good. Those that have mostly negative things to say about them and about Arteta are just lying to themselves. The stars just haven't aligned for them in the last few years.

It has taken a few years mind.

That's why they'll (United) keep Amorim for the foreseeable

Finally Jokeres has found a "track" "flat" enough. Weird how it came, yet again, after they took a 2-0 lead.

...
Arsenal are doing this and will do something like get knocked out by Leverkusen or someone like that in the knockout rounds

I'm not sure Leverkusen will get that far!

To be fair they only lost to PSG and Bayern in the last two years and they were pretty close ties.

...

It's easy to laugh at them because they come up short. But no denying they are a team going in the right direction.

The defeat against Liverpool probably said more about their limitations than it did about Liverpool's superiority.

Only 3 goals conceded across 12 games in all comps so far. Pretty impressive.

Apart from a poor run of about 15 games at the start of his first full season where he was lucky to survive the sack, they have progressed really well under him. They have been class for a while now.

Damn goals galore today. Probably the best Champions League matchday I've seen, first time I've seen all the favourites won so comfortably. Feck the bookies.

Arteta was rookie manager whose previous experience was as Guardiola's assistant, he started decently enough then Covid happened. Managed to scam an FA Cup win through haram ball then his first full season was under Covid, with almost no off season and playing 3 times and sometimes even 4 times a week with limited depth. His first "normal" season was 21/22, and they were mediocre for the first 3 months, but as it turned out that was all down to Aubameyang being nuclear fallout levels of toxic, and as soon as they binned him (early December) they immediately turned into the 3rd best team in the PL

"Arteta needed years" is a really disingenous point to try and defend a failing manager. In Amorim's case specifically, if your team doesn't show significant improvement this year, it's unlikely to change

More sense than some fans on here.
I saw that post earlier and reflexively was about to give it a thumbs up but realized I’m not a member of that site. Why would a Gooner ever hang there?

Funny how many times I’ve seen United fans talking about being 6 points behind us. It’s 8 games in, that’s a lot. 6 points also separates them from 17th place Burnley
