Honestly hard to say rumour-wise, all the sources have been so far off what we've been doing and found out late we are signing Santos and Tielemans.

Unlikely to be Guimarães, expect it to be a younger profile like Sangaré, Baleba or Koné.

Kone would be a good pick up actually, but I think he would command a quite high fee

Anyone in the league can stroll into our midfield. He certainly improves us but when your rivals are breaking records signing Elliot Anderson, or losing targets like Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, or they already have world-class midfielders like Rice, we are already playing catch-up and it's pretty underwhelming in comparison. A Youri Tielemans at the tail end of his career and injury prone really feels like we cannot challenge any of the better teams. I do like the business side of it but I really do hope we have a marquee signing in us.

You had a good season but in my opinion playing 40 games compared to Arsenal 63 and City 61 played a huge factor. If your squad had another 20+ games 'm pretty confident you would have dropped more points in the league.

You definitely should have been looking higher than Santos and Tielemans if you want to close the gap.

I am massively confused, Redcafe seems to be creaming over Martinez saying he had a 'fantastic' world cup but every analysis (including my own eyes) I have seen is that he was terrible and a total liability in every game defensively (his ultimate job).
