Can’t think of a single content creator that I think is genuine. Feel what has happened quite recently with them, which Goldbridge realised quite a while ago, is that if you upload a video about a specific club then it’s likely to almost exclusively be fans of that club that watch.

There has been a shift from content creators trying to be sensationalist to a single audience, to now glazing up every club they talk about and covering issues that each fan base discusses which reaches a lot wider.

If you watch a range of content from these guys then you see massive inconsistencies in what their thoughts actually are, as it changes entirely based on the targeted audience. If you don’t though, they appear fair and balanced and this works really well for them. Fans just want to hear people talk positively about their club and that works best when you’re hearing from someone who isn’t a fan and so has no perceived bias in what they are saying.

Doesn’t work with social media since everyone sees your content so the play there is to make bold claims about your own club that are likely to backfire so that you either look clever or you get the inevitable backfire and it reaches a massive audience who engage thinking that you look stupid. Eg. Tweet something yesterday about how Chelsea are back and ready for the title and will show it today by battering Arsenal. Engagement-wise, it’s a win win regardless of what happens in the game.

A guy like Goldbridge doesn’t bother me as he’s clearly very good at what he does and knows how to maximise engagement but does bother me that more people don’t see through these things

I don't understand their transfer approach of fixing one area of the squad and ignoring the glaring issues in the squad for the following windows. Last summer they fixed their attack; this summer the focus was on the midfield, and I assume the next will be to on the defence. Will we finally see the end of Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw? For their sake, I hope so. It's a bit weird because who's to say they won't be needing a Bruno or Tielemans replacement? They're both in their thirties. What if one of their attackers gets a serious injury? Do they just ignore the problem?
