Why is Ole an idiot?
Ole is far from an idiot. He has good win% at his Norway clubs and at United. If they buy well in the summer they will be a force next year.

People saying that Maguire and Pogba are average need to think again.
Their squad is the 2nd most expensive behind City and they finished 3rd. Not too shabby. They're starting to get things right.

Ole is a decent manager. He mightn't be Klopp or Pep level but he's shown he's capable. He also doesn't do a lot of complicated stuff which could actually help the players. Last thing you want is trying to tell guys like Bruno or Pogba that they have to adapt to a completely new-style of football with specific requirements. Instead he just keeps it simple. Pogba's playing the same role he played for France when they won the world cup and Bruno is a 10 with license to drift wide. He's also shown he's capable of switching things up in the big games like against Liverpool or City.

Perhaps there's a ceiling with him as a manager especially as long as Klopp and Pep remain at their respective clubs but he's far from an idiot.

As for them in the transfer market, their transfers have had the desired effect, they've taken them from 6th to 3rd. Surely they must be doing something right?

They finished with same point 66 as they did last season they finished 6th it's not their fault Leicester collapse tho. i think next season important for Oleh i still don't think Manutd will win trophies with him he too limited as manager.

You're right, Ole is no mug, he knows exactly what standards need to be at United. They've bought well so far and will include to strengthen. Maguire and AWB aren't spectacular signings but they've added much needed steel in their defence. United didn't concede many goals since they've come in.

Fergie always said "Start from the back when building a team". They've got the spine: Henderson/De Gea, Maguire, Pogba, Bruno, Martial/Rashford and a sprinkling of very impressive youth players like Greenwood (some would argue he's ready to be the 9 now anyway).

Plus they'll bring in players like Sancho and ship out the egos/players who want to mess around instead of train/work hard.

He's not the right manager to win the big trophies but he'll leave the squad in a very good shape for the next manager. He's perfect for their rebuild, just like I think Arteta and Lampard are at Arsenal & Chelsea respectively.

The number of points is not how you determined the season & improvement. In 06/07, United won the league with 89 points. In 07/08, United won the league with 87 points. Everyone would have agreed that 07/08 is much better season with much better squad than 06/07.

When clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and others hire managers, these managers will be given the idea what the project & the aim is. The manager is then need to make plan & blueprint what they have to do to accomplish the club's project, and the board will view it and if it's acceptable then they hire the manager.

If the plan didn't work out as what it was originally planned & the manager decided to change the direction from it but cost big money, the board has a reason to question the manager's demand & decision.

So far Ole is going into the right direction because the plan was carefully executed in his first season. He knows the aspects & areas he needs to fix first and last, the recruitment has been correct since it's improving the team, he has improved and developed our young players & there is clear idea of the playing style he wants to implement into the team. Hence why he's still the manager of the club.

Whether he is the right man to win trophies, we will see. But the way how he managed our team & the direction he's heading has been spot on. The rebuilding project was never gonna be 1 to 2 summer transfer window anyway. It requires time & so far Ole has used the money wisely on players that we need.

Wazza tearing into Fergie's tactical approach (I say tactical approach, sounds like there wasn't much tactics involved), you absolutely love to see it.

Think Fergie picked a good team in 2009, but 2011 was one f the worst team selections ever from him...a 2 man midfield of Carrick and a 50 year old Giggs against Barca's midfield, no chance ffs

To be fair, 2009 midfield wasn't any better. Fletcher got a red and missed the final thanks to you lot ffs  And we end up playing with Anderson.

Ever since Scholes passed his prime and started to get some injuries, we never really sign a replacement for him. Carrick had to play the one man in midfield for years. We had a chance to sign Schweinsteiger but his ex GF wanted to stay in Germany and guess what later on he broke up with her and switched to Iva. If only Iva stole his heart way before 2010.

A lot of United fans are either too young to remember or just blind to it but Anderson was a big game for us in that period. Anderson didnt play instead of Fletcher, it was Giggs that played in Fletchers place. Anderson played in both legs of the semis too. Carrick, Anderson and Fletcher was our main midfield for all the big games in 2009. Go look it up.

Anderson became a joke a few years later but from when he was bought up until 2010 he barely had a mare in any game for us.

It was Anderson, Carrick & Giggs in midfield against Barcelona 2009, Anderson started in that game.

Anderson was just a decent player in 08/09 but he was below the level of Hargreaves 07/08, Fletcher & Carrick. The point is simple, we were never gonna stand a chance in midfield against Xavi, Busquets, Iniesta by relying on Anderson & Giggs next to Carrick. Barcelona midfield is on different level to Arsenal semi, you want Scholes Carrick Fletcher at least or the same line up in 07/08 not Anderson & Giggs.

They're signing Sancho ffs and I think he's going to be that annoying level of good where he won't hit the heights that have Barca/Real coming for him but he'll terrorise the league for years.
