The success what Klopp achieved is irrelevant to how much money they spent during Houllier, Benitez and the era between Benitez & Klopp.

If we are going back to 10 years ago let's say 2012, you can't use this as your logic because from 2002 to 2012 Chelsea, Man City, Tottenham & Liverpool were the top 4 net spender, and yet United & Arsenal were the ones that constantly finished in top 4 in those 10 years, in your logic United & Arsenal shouldn't be in top 4 most of the time from 2002 to 2012.
Totally agree, but Fergie and Wenger were exceptional managers. After they left United and Arsenal have regressed. In the long term they will average out to somewhere near their spending position.

Klopp has just over performed by 2 places in 2 years. The previous 2 years he was 4th twice.

When they hired new manager especially when they hired Klopp, the plan was to rebuild the team for success. The success was to win UCL & PL trophies, he achieved them. So the success that Klopp achieved with Liverpool is still irrelevant to your logic to include whatever happened in the past before Klopp's era.

10 years. 7 years. They are long term enough. If we have this discussion in 2012, you can't use the same logic. You are using it now to suits your argument and it reality is irrelevant.

No it’s not irrelevant. All teams go in cycles, up and down spikes depending on different coaching abilities and transfer dealings. Liverpool are in a spike above the norm at the moment, but Klopp will leave and someone will come in who’s not as good and they’ll regress again. The constant is how much the owners are spending and that’s what will determine’s Liverpool’s finishing position long term, they will swing around that over the years, depending on how well they use that money.

I'll never understand people who think money doesn't matter and it's all about the management. Money counts for like 95% at least with the rest being manager, player fitness, luck etc.

Nah bro, Man City and PSG went from mid-table sides to the best team in their respective leagues through good management alone, had absolutely nothing to do with spending millions bringing in world class players.

I don't think people would argue money plays a massive part, of course it does. Problem is, some posters whose username rhymes with Bakingwax, bang on about it so often as if it is the only factor. Ignoring the real plastic clubs like City for a moment and concentrating on us for a moment, look at some of our bigger signing like Xhaka, Mustafi and Pepe. That;s 150 million of squad cost there for **** sake. We do have money but we spend it like a drunk in Las Vegas. Having money gives you a massive advantage the more you have it but you still need to spend it properly.

Yeah but then what would happen is you spend another 200 million on players, then another until you get it right. That's what separates Arsenal from the likes of Chelsea and Man City. Look at how much City spent to get their defence right.

But my point is, if you gave Arsenal that type of money, as the club is now, i'd still think we'd buy some right ******. We've spent more than enough to build a decent squad and we haven't.

It’s because most fans can’t see the difference between long term trends and short term trends. God help them if they were playing the Stock Market.

You’ll never explain it to him bro. You’re wasting bandwidth. My sister teaches science and’s got the patience of a saint. I keep telling her you have to know when to give up.

Two of which were brought by the "exceptional" Wenger who is apparently streets ahead of a manager of Mourinho's stature in @Makingtrax Disney Land.

Klopp has apparently merely succeeded in comparison by practically transforming Liverpool with players like Wijnaldum, Milner, Henderson, Lovren, Matip and turning the likes of Mane, Firmino, Arnold, Robertson, Salah world class levels and into league and CL winners.
