On a more serious note: How deluded are all those people? When have Tottenham looked like serious contenders? Their manager is an astute guy and they have some very good players, but just with Saint-Germain they have had and still have a serious bottler mentality along a weak keeper and a bad central midfield.

Just look at Kane. Every window every big clubs wants him but he extends his contract cause he loves his mum's cottage pie. Keeps on scoring for them but someone who trades being close to his family for massive chances for the highest accolades seriously lacks winning mentality. You can be a family man from far away or living abroad. Actually reminds me of an ex of mine. She had all the talent to be a great flutist and while young the determination to leave home, but she lost that somewhere along the way because she thought to be there for your family means staying withing 500 yards, and instead of playing at the Scala in Milan she's a part time nurse and stay at home mum now.

Eriksen is the same bottler. 27 now and slowly approaches the tailgate of his career, but has still won nothing.

The only guy really worth a dime there is Son.

And on another note: Why is the english media so biased towards them? I mean I overrated Dortmund for the first half of the season, but they actually were leading the league and stomping teams right and left. Sp**s are far more like Gladbach or Leipzig in Germany, only that no one ever thought or hyped up those two teams to win the league, not even their own fans, even when they were in close distance, because reality.

I think because they could've gone two points behind Liverpool and City if they had beaten Burnley. Still, I never saw them as contenders but people got carried away by the purple patch they had over Christmas when they scored loads.

They've had a lot of players start for England in recent years, plus the media love a plucky underdog to upset the natural order because it's a good narrative. Unfortunately for them Sp**s always let you down.

In his account, Dean said: “At the conclusion of the game I was approached on the field of play by the Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino and some members of his coaching staff including first team coach Jesus Perez.

“Mr Pochettino acted in a very irresponsible and aggressive manner. He wouldn't stop saying 'you know what you are, you know what you are'. I asked him to explain and he repeated 'you know what you are'.

“I then said on numerous occasions to go away, at least 10 times, and he wouldn't get out of my personal space and then aggressively pointed his finger just a few inches from my face again saying 'you know what you are'.

“Mr. Pochettino then left me alone and left the field of play. When I reached the tunnel he was waiting at the top of the stairs again saying 'you know what you are' and had to be escorted to the dressing room by security staff from Burnley.”

Not as iconic as "you are dishonest to your federation"

Sp*rs forums Eriksen threads are fun read. As it's beginning to look like he's off next summer, they're beginning to turn on him. Finding faults and questioning his quality. Convincing them selves they're better of without. Helmets.

What I don’t quite understand is the insistence from Sp*rs fans that “they’re going home to WHL”. But, they’re not really are they.

I think it comes from the fact that Arsenal and West Ham moved to different stadiums in different locations, and they are neurotically insistent that that’s not what they’re doing. In their heads they’ve not left their historical home for another modern bowl, but have simply upgraded their home. They all still call it WHL. It’s Bullsh*t.

WHL is demolished. The new stadium is not called WHL, the local tube isn’t even called WHL now. It is materially a completely different stadium. If we had demolished Highbury and built a new stadium on that site I’d actually be offended by the idea of calling it Highbury. Highbury was unique, it was the facade and the marble halls. Now WHL may have been a literal sh*thole, but it was their spiritual sh*thole and they have to accept that they’ve left it.

I don’t know if I’m alone here in noticing the psychological gymnastics of sp*rs fans in convincing themselves that they haven’t really left WHL, but they f*cking have and someone really ought to tell them. You can’t have your cake and eat it, either you stay in your home or you go for the money. They went for the money, totally fair, so just f*cking accept that that’s what you’ve done.

Also as a side note, I’m actually very f*cking impressed at how sp*rs have managed to cultivate an outward appearance of pundits’ favourite cuddly do-gooders while internally operating their club like a ruthless venture capital fund. Seriously, you’ve got to admire that.
