I will bite. Why does 17th matter? They were never going to get relegated, they would have swung back into gear if it was a threat. What is the difference between 10th and 17th ?

The club even admitted in their sacking statement, they were aware Ange had prioritised the cups in order to.win a trophy and qualify of CL, it had been discussed.

I have seen Ange almost get relegated in Japan and then win the league the next year with a team that hadnt won it in 17 years. It wouldnt happen in PL but he would have had them back in top 6 especially with the right signings.

Do you want a manger who has a higher variance as he tries to win things, or a safe pair of hands that offers consistency?

It's a horrendous decision, they just lost a springboard to have an identity beyond being a banter club. Sp**s fans are rightfully angry because they know what they can look forward to now beyond the football. Nothing.

It's almost as bad as us keeping Arteta, which has utterly destroyed the identity that kept us relevant during the time the PL became a global phenomenon. Our terrible decision making has led exactly to that, 5 years of nothing.

Rate the job Frank has done making Brentford a steady PL outfit but not sure he could make a team anymore than that but deserves a chance tbf. Could be a bit like when Curbishley left Charlton though.

Frank might do well with them, relatively speaking. Proved adaptable at Brentford, will play to the strengths of the players at his disposal not someone who'll force his style or system if it's not working.

Also works within a budget so Levy will be happy.

Yeah, he’s a top coach. Done wonders at a moneyball club. This is not a signing to be pleased about.

Thomas Frank is a decent coach but hardly an inspired choice. A guy who will keep midtable clubs steady but won't challenge for the big trophies or even top 4 really. You know putting it like that he fits Sp**s perfectly actually. Will also probably keep Sp**s out of the relegation zone next season which is probably one of the reasons they hired him.
