Going back to the earlier rumour re. Zabarnyi. They signed him, Huijsen and Kerkez for around £50m total. Those boys on the south coast are elite in terms of recruitment. Didn’t spend much less than that on Cala.

A mate of mine is a Sp**s fan. In all other aspects of his life he is quite sane and level headed.

Levy is the problem at Sp**s on the football side of things. 17 managers in 24 years, he flip flops from one coach to another without a clear long term strategy. From a young manager who plays attractive football in Poch to pragmatic, proven winners in Maureen and Conte then to all out attacking football with Ange and now to more pragmatic counter attacking with Frank. He just completely pivots based upon what he/the fans didnt like about the immediate predecessor.

They are poundland chelsea, going through managers at the rate of Boehly and Abramovic but without anywhere near the same level of squad investment despite having the 7th highest revenue in world football.

Have to say thought they would go for someone higher profile after getting Champions League with their Cup win, Frank feels like someone they could have gotten without that and a little anticlimactic.

He's a good coach of course, but has he ever had to deal with rotating in Europe before...and now he's being thrown in to a team in the tier 1 comp and coming off a trophy drought ending season manager and the pressure following that...feels like a potential disaster waiting to happen.

Levy has never been able to attract top players, but has gotten big name managers before... honestly thought they were going to get Inzaghi after he left Inter and the rumours of Ange going right after that lol!

Feel this could be a sink or swim appointment, similar to Potter being ruined at Chelsea...would have just given Ange another year if this was the best alternative they could come up with, too many question marks for me.
