Nah, getting old, Curious. Homophobic jokes are getting old too, btw.
Welcome, Mikel. Not my first choice but let's see what he can accomplish.
He’ll only be coming with promises. He’ll bring in a bunch of new staff and have an idea to revamp the squad.
Rafa knows what needs done.
Carragher explained one of the best tactics I ever heard. It is so simple it is great. Rafa told his team when we concede straight from the kick off boot the ball out for a throw in beside their goal. It kills the crowd and puts them under pressure. Genius. Pure genius.
? This a joke or what?
You should go to a retirement home tbf.
If they hire Arteta, who has NO experience mind you, its clearly because no one else wanted the job. And who can blame them?
Getting a manager now is pointless unless they can sign a couple of players in the January window. If you're going to use the 'only good players are available in the summer' excuse you might as well keep Ljungberg until then.
This squad needs huge investment. No manager would get this lot playing every week.
We will get a chance to do this ALOT at least!
Not even Moaninho would manage to park the bus with these frauds...
Or maybe Ljungberg is a bit **** and someone else might actually get them playing? They were better than this last season.
Need some lip readers to check it out. Think he's likely talking to Mikel about how he'll let him go if Arteta donates some of his hair for Pep's retirement transplant.
Don’t have the energy for this. Ultimately you feel with the Kroenke family in charge this club is ****ed.
Genuinely don’t give a toss about the club anymore. My brother has tickets for all the festive season games and I won’t be taking any from him.
What is Arteta going to do here? Utd will spend hundreds of millions, they already got half a good team. Chelsea will spend, Liverpool and City are machines.
Then you got us with our bum American owners.
It is what it is, circle of life n dat. Could be worse, could be supporting a team that hasn't reach a cuppa final in ages or ever. Perspective n dat, ye brutha we jammin' good
A manager with a proper gameplan and 100% backing from the board will get even this crop of players playing decent football again. We don't need a top class manager to achieve that.
If we want to form any kind of challenge in CL or the PL title race we need someone special and extreme financial investment.
You can see what some of the lower league sides are doing when every single player follows the same gameplan and nobody is bigger than the team. That's why clubs/media are looking at even lower league managers. Forgetting however, that these managers have full backing from their owners to make big decisions (which would mean leaving out any player that does not commit 100% to the plan) and as a result of that, have a team that is properly drilled and where everybody knows their role and nobody acts like a superstar.
Our problem is that we don't have a proper gameplan (and/or that it's not followed), too many individuals and our board seems to flipflop to save face rather than properly back whoever is in charge of coaching the team.
If we get Arteta in, it will probably be the end of some of our star players and we will rebuild from the ground (youth). His demands will be full control and backing to make any footballing decision he deems necessary, his own staff and probably some level of influence in transfers.
Get who playing? We have no ****ing midfield.
We are light years behind, heard today we are skint. Lovely stuff.
If I had a blank canvas, I would only take Lacazette and Aubameyang from our current crop of players to rebuild this team. Everyone else seems so lacklustre and lacking in quality! Watching it again on MoTD2 now, it’s just embarrassing!
This has to be the darkest part of our recent history, and as they say, that means that dawn is close.
Saka, Martinelli, ESR, Guendo, Saliba, Joe. So many great young talents that need a mentor type of manager and a couple of experienced players to guide them and they could become huge.
We are in for an exciting ride thats in front of us, and if we choose our pilot wisely, it may be a one we will remember.
I for one would love Arteta, but he needs to come here without the pressure to get results. His task should be redeveloping that beautiful football flow that made us famous and changing our mentality. Anything else on short term is a bonus and on the long term, this approach must bring us results.
