Hopefully Lille win against Angers. Would be a major disappointment if PSG come back to win it again.

Yo crazy stats for Burak in Turkey

Scored 55 goals in 72 games for Trabzonspor between 2010-2012.

Here is the vid of the 2011-2012 season where he scored 33 league goals

Then he moved to Galatasaray, where he scored 81 goals in 105 games between 2012-2016 seasons

He moved to China stayed there for two years, then came back to Turkey and played for Trabzonspor for one season(scored 28 goals in 32 games) and Besiktas for two seasons(scored 24 in 40 games).

Also he’s Turkeys national team second all time top goal scorer with 28 goals in 66 appearances.

So yeah this guy has actually been prolific for the previous clubs he played for. Plus when you look at the vids above you can tell it’s the same player we are watching now. He’s an assured finisher now but so was he back then, so it didn’t come overnight.

Only thing I would say that hindered him from playing in the top leagues is that he made his first breakout season in Turkey with Trabzonspor at the age of 26...so he was a very late bloomer.

I've just seen this, I can give you some insights on Burak as someone who watched him throughout his career in Turkey.

His breakout came so late mainly because he played mainly as a right-winger until Şenol Güneş, the current NT Coach and the coach of Trabzonspor then, converted him to a center-forward that season. Very similar story to what Wenger did with Henry. He was a failure at Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe before that breakout season with Trabzonspor.

He was always excellent at getting himself into goalscoring opportunities, but his finishing wasn't actually all that clinical, his contribution to build-up play was lacking and he lived offside, basically. Very similar player profile to Filippo Inzaghi. As he aged, his contribution to build-up play has improved, and at Lille he seems to have finally figured out how to deal with offside traps and be more composed in front of goal.

Very impressive season he's having considering he's a 35-year old in his first season in a Top 5 league.

Big news in France, according to sources, Benzema will be called back today by Deschamps to be in the team for the Euro. Let's see if this ism confirmed this evening when the list of 26 is made public.
Having said that, Mbappe-Benzema would be a formidable pair. Any football fan would love to see that.

David has had a very respectable first season imo. I really liked him when he was in Belgium, think he's got a big future. Another season or two at Lille and he'll go to a big club.

Lille 2-0 at half time. They are on their way to the title. Can't see them giving away two goals. It is over.
Le Nord will be celebrating tonight, 10 yrs after their last title, with Cabaye, Gervinho, Rami, Hazard and Debuchy.
