If Tierney don't spend half of season injured we won't be wasting time putting 40m€ on player. It's clearly we can't trust Tierney anymore and we want top 4 can't keep playing Tavares and Cedric for half of season.

Cheaper, plays LB as his primary position, and knows Arteta during their time worked together at City.

I have no idea why some fans in here think it's a good idea to sign Martinez who had been used primary as CB and also DM to play as LB. Zinchenko fits the profile Arteta is looking for more than Martinez imo.
There was interest early in summer but look we see lisandro better and man city aren't selling Zinchenko until they get LB

The answer is to sign a real LB who is as good or better than Tierney. Same for Partey. Same with Xhaka.

Lol imagine we get gazumped for both targets. I wouldn't be the hurt by this one if im beinh truly honest.
This one would hurt for me. I think he offers steel and talent up the middle. Gabriel, Partey, Xhaka insurance. But at 50m, it won’t make sense … again.

I've got a question. Why should be in for Martinez for 50m when we can buy an EPL experienced player like Zinchenko cheaper? The only reason comes to my mind is that Juventus interest is legit and we might sell Gabriel if De Ligt left. But even in this case, he is too short for being a CB

Not selling Gabriel.

50m for Martinez is a bit pricey. Don’t think we’ll go that high.

I am not as impressed by Zinchenko, but he seems more logical at LB than Martinez. Martinez is not a LB no matter how much we want him to be.

He's going to Utd, why would he come here when he would be a guaranteed starter for Utd playing for a coach you've played for before that trusts you while probably getting paid more than what he would probably get here. I think we will miss out on this player too.

Wow, if we lose out on both of these guys this window goes from very positive to an absolute nightmare. Gonna make me look like a right ****ing mug at work too.

Everyone seem so certain about Martinez at LB, but it doesn't make alot of sense. Anyone who has actually watched him play, and many eredevisie experts say he IS versatile, because he can play as a centre back and a defensive midfielder. He's played alot at DM, but only 3 games at LB.

I heard on latte firm that hes not as effective there because he is not super fast, and so can get done by pacy wingers. The pace is not an issue in the middle of the park though, because his positioning is incredible, apparently.

I still want him though, because he can be back up to Gabriel, Partey, as well as Xhaka/Tielemans (this is assuming we play a double pivot, which will happen more than is acknowledged.)

I haven't heard it said yet, but i wouldn't be surprised if we were in for Martinez AND a LB.
